“Woke” ideas are rampaging through the West.
Most of them started in radical departments of universities.
And a college guest speaker demanded students do one shocking thing.
American universities have become dumping grounds for some of the worst ideas imaginable.
For years, those “woke” ideas stayed in the academy, but they have spread throughout society.
While people are beginning to push back against the excesses of “wokeness,” college campuses are as bad as ever.
Bruin folly
And first-year medical students at UCLA are being forced to take a mandatory course on “structural racism.”
The school invited a local far-left activist named Lisa “Tiny” Gray-Garcia, a self-described poverty scholar, to lecture the students and lead them in a bizarre prayer.
During her incantation, Gray-Garcia denounced the “crapitalist lie” of “private property.”
In true pagan fashion, she implored the students to get on their knees and honor “Mama Earth.”
These types of radicals are not only welcomed on college campuses but invited.
Shocking double standard
Conversely, when a run-of-the-mill conservative gets invited, all hell breaks loose.
For example, Federal Judge Kyle Duncan had to endure a struggle session when he attended an event at Stanford hosted by the Federalist Society.
Even though the Federalist Society is conservative, the event was taken over by deranged leftists led by a “woke” administrator.
Gray-Garcia also rebuked Israel for the war in Gaza and chanted, “Free, free Palestine”; she has a history of making incendiary posts critical of Jews.
UCLA’s Jewish Faculty Resilience Group wrote to Chancellor Gene Block, “The net effect was that UCLA staff intimidated first-year medical students into participating in a religious service in derogation of their own personal beliefs. . .There needs to be an urgent and thorough external review and investigation of the [medical school’s] curriculum and systemic antisemitism.”
In addition to giving “woke” speeches, Gray-Garcia wrote a book called How to Not Call the Po’Lice Ever and a poem titled “Dear KKKolumbus.”
Conservatives and moderate liberals made the big mistake of ignoring the campus radicals for decades.
The assumption was they would go into the “real world” and leave the nonsense behind, but they have risen the ranks in the “real world” in key positions of influence, namely education, news media, and entertainment media.
Sane people have to fight back before it’s too late.
