Leftists believe that all aspects of society must be political.
That’s why there has been such a heavy push to nudge professional athletes to be more outspoken.
And Patrick Mahomes just put the ball in wife Brittany’s court after leftists attempted to divide their team.
The Left lost it when their efforts to divide Super Bowl-winning team failed
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker created a media firestorm by giving one speech.
The devout Catholic gave a speech at Benedictine College, a Catholic university, where he talked about women wanting to be wives and mothers.
A change.org petition that received over 200,000 signees called for Butker to be released from the team.
An op-ed in The Kansas City Star wanted Butker replaced with a female kicker.
And when when the Chief’s star quarterback Patrick Mahomes showed up for his “working wife,” Brittany’s recent photoshoot for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in the wake of Butker’s speech, leftists elites fell all over themselves, thinking Mahomes would soon demand the Chiefs replace him with a female kicker.
But they couldn’t have been more wrong.
Chiefs remain unbothered
The Left’s outrage did not faze the players or the coaches in the Chiefs’ locker room.
Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid had Butker’s back.
During a press conference about OTAs (organized team activities), both Mahomes and Reid were asked about Butker’s “controversial” speech.
Mahomes said that he judges Butker by the “character that he shows every single day. . .And that’s a good person.”
He added that Butker is “someone who cares about the people around him, cares about his family and wants to make a good impact in society.”
For the liberal reporters looking for Mahomes to throw his teammate under the bus, they were disappointed.
Mahomes added, “When you’re in the locker room, there’s a lot of people from a lot of different areas of life, and they have a lot of different views on everything and we’re not always going to agree.”
Disagreements happen
Between players, coaches, and support staff, there are well over 100 people inside an NFL organization.
The idea that everyone would be aligned politically is absurd.
Mahomes continued, “There are certain things that he said that I don’t necessarily agree with, but I understand the person that he is, and he’s trying to do whatever he can to lead people in the right direction. . .What makes the locker room so cool is you are able to have those discussions, become better and make those decisions for yourself.”
As for Coach Reid, he said that “everybody’s got their own opinion” and “that’s what’s so great about this country.”
Reid is old enough to remember when people were allowed to disagree and still coexist.
He added, “We’re a microcosm of life here by serving different areas, different religions, different races and so we all get along, we all respect each other’s opinions and not necessarily do we go by those but. . .we respect everybody to have a voice.”
The Chiefs have won three of the past six Super Bowls, and Butker, one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history, is a big reason why.
Mahomes said that the Butker situation will not be a distraction.
“We’ll continue to move along and try to help build each other up to make ourselves better every single day, but at the end of the day, we’re going to come together as a team [while] eliminating those distractions outside the building as well,” Mahomes declared.

The Democrat-controlled media’s attempts to “cancel” Butker have failed.
But you can bet the leftists will soon be demanding Brittany Mahomes go against her husband’s remarks.
