Some members of Congress are desperate to be famous.

Jasmine Crockett of Texas fits that mold.

But Crockett’s war with Marjorie Taylor Greene took one embarrassing new turn.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) got her wish of going viral after she and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) teamed up on Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) in a war of words.

Greene kicked it off by telling Crockett, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”

Ocasio-Cortez feigned outrage, then Crockett, with a smile, said, “If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blonde, bad built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”

Crockett later went on CNN with Jake Tapper and accused Greene of racism.

She told Tapper, “I think her specifically doing it to me, yes, that was the intent as has been stated women wear makeup, we wear lashes, we wear all types of things to beautify ourselves. But MAGA has historically been on social media doing the things where they’re saying, ‘Oh, she’s black with lashes and nails and hair, and so she’s ghetto.’ And so, to me, this was her buying into that rhetoric and trying to amplify this for the MAGA crowd. And so, yeah, I absolutely think that she only did it to be racist towards me.”

But Crockett is simply trying to draw attention to make a buck.

In fact, she has now introduced a “Crockett Clapback” merchandise line.

Crockett wrote on social media, “So we are going to drop ‘A Crockett Clapback Collection.’ This collection will feature various swag that includes random things I’ve said. The money will go to ensuring that we have a Democratic House! Give me a little time to really get the swag online etc., but B6 will drop first.”

She added, “If you have things you want to see come to life let me know. Post graphics or just phrases that you want to see.”

But people pointed out that she has misspelled her name on her own merch.

“Who’s Crockrtt?” one user asked.

Another Twitter user added, “This is why nobody will ever take you seriously. The left may applaud you, but inside, nobody considers you a serious lawmaker.”

Prior to her dust-up with Greene, Crockett spread the debunked claim that border patrol agents whipped illegal aliens coming into the country.

She also supported the idea that black people should be exempted from taxes as a form of reparations.

Crockett said, “Just this past week I saw, I don’t remember which celebrity, but it was actually a celebrity, and I was like, that’s not necessarily a bad idea, but I’d have to think through it a lot. One of the things that they propose is black folk not have to pay taxes for a certain amount of time. Because then again, that puts money back in your pocket. . .So many black folk — not only do you owe for the labor that was stolen and killed and all the other things — but the fact is, like, we end up being so far behind.”

If Crockett wants to make the argument that nobody should pay income tax—it was not implemented until 1913—then libertarians would be game for that.

But of course, she’s a radical leftist, so that would be a nonstarter.
