Authoritarian politicians all around the world were infuriated when X jettisoned the draconian speech codes they’d worked so hard to collude on with former Twitter managers.

Their seething hatred exposes what Musk calls “the mind virus” even more.

Now Musk has dropped the mic with a brutal truth bomb he just unleashed on a top government official.

Australia has come under fire after a horrific attack

In mid April, worshipers gathered at the Assyrian Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, Australia.

After the churchgoers made it to their seats, the service began in normal fashion.

Then, the unthinkable happens in the blink of an eye.

All of a sudden, a young man jumps to the altar yelling “Allahu Akbar,” then stabs Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel repeatedly with a switchblade knife.

Emmanuel survived this attack, even praying for his attacker following the stabbing.

The attack has ignited a firestorm online, with many questioning who the attacker is and how he got into the country.

Without skipping a beat, the Australian government attempted to conceal this attack with a federal ruling that the footage cannot appear on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter).

More specifically, Justice Geoffrey Kennett ordered that the footage must be hidden from all X users up until last Wednesday when a hearing regarding a permanent ban on the footage was heard.

Moments after the ruling, Elon Musk took to X, sharing a post from X user @DogeDesigner, which depicts a forked road with mainstream media outlets going one way and X going the other.

This post came with the caption, “𝕏 will bring an end to the woke legacy media.  People are already moving to 𝕏 to discover the truth in real-time.”

Only days earlier, Musk shared another post from @DogeDesigner, which reads,

“The issue is that Australia appears to be demanding censorship of content on 𝕏 beyond its borders,” with Elon musk adding, “That is exactly the issue.  Should the eSafety Commissar (an unelected official) in Australia have authority over all countries on Earth?”

Elon Musk refused to comply with Australia’s order to remove the footage of the stabbing, setting the stage for a major showdown between Musk and the Australian government.

Australia’s attempt to censor content globally reveals a desire for widespread media control

Australia’s attempt to conceal the video footage of the brutal attack on Bishop Emmanuel has set the stage for a major clash over how much authority, if any, governments have on censoring social media footage.

Like many viral videos and news clips these days, this footage has spread around the entire globe, with people in countless nations viewing the attack.

As Musk points out, the Australian government wants nothing more than to usurp global censorship powers, something that even the Soviet Union could not fathom.
