Pop stars rarely sit for hard-hitting interviews.

They go out of their way to avoid controversy during frivolous chit-chats.

But Ariana Grande left her fans speechless when she revealed her dream dinner guest.

Ariana Grande just landed herself in hot water.

The pop princess sat for an interview on actor Penn Badgley’s podcast that she probably wishes she could take back.

Dream dinner guest

During the talk, Grande mentioned who her dream dinner guest would be.

That is a common question.

Most people answer with a historical figure or someone they admired when they were younger.

However, Grande went in a completely different direction.

She said she wanted to have dinner, ironically, with cannibalistic serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

“I was infatuated with serial killers when I was younger,” Grande confessed.

She also told Badgley, “Years ago, before the Dahmer series, I was in a Q&A with fans, young fans. . .Someone said, ‘If you could have dinner with anyone living or dead, who would it be?’ And I was like, ‘Mom and dad, is it okay if I give the real answer?’ . . . And they were like, ‘Sure, I guess. What’s the answer?’ And I was like, ‘Jeffrey Dahmer is pretty fascinating.’”

What makes Grande’s answer doubly insane is that she admittedly said it to a group of younger fans.

Dahmer murdered at least 17 people—many of them gay men that he enticed home from clubs—before he was killed in jail by an inmate in 1994.

Grande added, “I think I would have loved to have met him. . .Maybe with a third party or someone involved, but I have questions.”

Unsurprisingly, Grande’s answer did not go over well.

Family hurt by Grande’s comments

Relatives of the victims were especially appalled by what she said.

Shirley Hughes, mother of Dahmer victim Tony Hughes, said, “To me, it seems like she’s sick in her mind. . .It’s not fancy or funny to say you would have wanted to do dinner with him. It’s also not something you should say to young people, which she says she did.”

Hughes’ sister Barbara told TMZ that she felt Grande should apologize and said, “Unfortunately, until it happens to her and her family, she just doesn’t know what we have been through.”

Entertainment Weekly reported that “Hughes, who was deaf and could not speak, was 31 when he was killed by Dahmer after meeting him at a gay bar in 1991. His mother told the outlet that she was particularly troubled by the way that Grande laughed when discussing her obsession with the serial killer, noting that she and the families of other victims experience genuine pain whenever he is mentioned in conversation.”

In 2022, Netflix aired the series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which was critically well received, but also drew criticism from families of the victims.

Needless to say, telling a group of younger fans that a notorious serial killer was her dream dinner guest is a horrible look for Grande.
