Donald Trump was muzzled by Democrat judge during his trial
Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was trying to convince two audiences during his bogus criminal case against former President Donald Trump.
His case was presented to the jury but it was also meant for the American public to damage Trump politically.
Trump had to defend himself in the courtroom and the court of public opinion.
That’s why Democrat Judge Juan Merchan slapped him with an unconstitutional gag order to keep him from discussing this travesty of justice publicly.
Trump was prevented from talking about the prosecutors, witnesses, jurors, court staff, and their families.
Stormy Daniels and former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen could trash the former President in public but Merchan’s muzzle kept him from responding.
He was railroaded in a politically-motivated case intended to influence the election and the former President couldn’t exercise his First Amendment rights.
Merchan fined Trump 10 times for violating the gag order and threatened to throw him in jail for violating it.
The conclusion of the trial with Trump’s conviction on 34 fake felonies that Bragg made up should have been the end of the gag order.
Trump’s legal team filed a request with Merchan to lift the gag order with the trial finished.
“Now that the trial is concluded, the concerns articulated by the government and the Court do not justify restrictions on the First Amendment rights of President Trump — who remains the leading candidate in the 2024 presidential election — and the American people,” Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche wrote.
Alvin Bragg wants to keep the muzzle on Donald Trump through sentencing
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office filed a request with Judge Merchan to keep the gag order in place through Trump’s July 11 sentencing hearing – four days before the Republican National Convention begins.
“The court has an obligation to protect the integrity of these proceedings and the fair administration of justice at least through the sentencing hearing and the resolution of any post-trial motions,” Bragg’s office wrote.
This is another political favor to Democrats from Bragg.
Trump is scheduled to debate President Joe Biden on June 27.
Keeping the gag order in place would mean that Trump would be hamstrung from defending himself when Biden inevitably goes on the attack on his criminal conviction.
Trump would have one hand tied behind his back during the debate.
Democrats and their media allies are labeling him a convicted felon in an attempt to discredit him with voters.
That’s previewing the line of attack that the Biden campaign is going to use moving forward.
Now that the trial is over the purpose of the gag order is gone.
