The entertainment industry could be facing a reckoning.

It slowly started with the #MeToo movement.

Now a music mogul begged for forgiveness after one horrifying video was released.

Disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein will likely spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted of forcible rape.

However, Weinstein had had a reputation for predatory behavior toward women for decades.

He was finally brought down, which launched the #MeToo movement.

But the movement mainly fizzled out because it became politically inconvenient for the Left.

Democrats and their media allies ignored sexual assault allegations against Joe Biden because he was running for president against Donald Trump.

Time’s up for industry predators

But bad behavior in the entertainment industry is still being called out.

R&B singer R. Kelly is currently in prison for decades, and Bad Boy music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs could be the next titan to fall.

Combs quickly settled a lawsuit with former R&B singer Cassie Ventura, who accused him of physical and psychological abuse.

A separate lawsuit popped up, which triggered the FBI to search his homes.

Then a shocking video from 2016 recently surfaced, confirming Ventura’s allegations.

In the video, taken from security footage at a Los Angeles hotel, Combs was recorded savagely beating Ventura in the hallway.

After the disgusting clip went viral, Combs had no choice but to come forward.

He said in an apology video, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. . .I was f***ed up. I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”

Combs had previously denied allegations of wrongdoing.

He continued, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video, I’m disgusted. . .I was disgusted then when I did it and I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, started going to therapy and rehab, had to ask God for his mercy and grace.”

Why now?

The hotel, which has since closed, allegedly sold the tape to Combs for $50,000, which is why it never surfaced.

The statute of limitations has long passed for the assault.

However, the damage to Combs’ reputation is incalculable.

For whatever reason, Combs has seemingly been “greenlit” by other powerbrokers in the industry.

Meredith Firetog, Ventura’s lawyer, was unimpressed with Combs’ video message.

She said, “Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt. When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday. . .That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”

In light of the lawsuits against Combs, rumors about his immoral and criminal behavior have become louder.

As was the case with Weinstein, Combs’ depravity in the entertainment world was a badly-kept secret.

Douglas H. Wigdor, another lawyer for Ventura, commented, “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. . .Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”

Needless to say, Combs has some very serious legal troubles on the horizon.
