For ten years the same FBI agents, intelligence officials, and prosecutors who went after Trump walked away without a scratch.
Comey got indicted last month and the dominoes are falling fast.
Now the Miami US attorney just went after someone nobody expected – and the message he sent has every deep state operative in America paying attention.
Jack Smith Prosecutor Charged With Stealing Classified Trump Investigation Files
Carmen Mercedes Lineberger ran the Fort Pierce, Florida federal prosecutor’s office that worked on Jack Smith's classified documents case against Trump.
As she was preparing to retire, Lineberger allegedly made a move she thought nobody would catch.
She renamed sealed, court-ordered classified documents from Smith's investigation "Chocolate_Cake_Recipe.pdf" and "Bundt_Cake_Recipe.pdf" – and emailed them to her personal accounts.
Judge Aileen Cannon had issued a direct order in February 2026 barring all DOJ officials from releasing or transmitting Smith's report on Trump.
Lineberger allegedly did it anyway.
Now, she faces one felony count of obstruction of justice, one felony count of concealing government records, and two misdemeanor counts of theft – up to 25 years if convicted on all charges.
"She was trying to steal government documents for some purpose that she wasn't authorized for," U.S. Attorney Jason Reding Quinones told Just the News. "She renamed those government documents – Bundt cake recipe, chocolate chip cookies. This is very, very serious stuff."
The question Quinones says will come out at trial: who was she planning to share those documents with, and why?
Kash Patel Names the Deep State Accountability Target Nobody Saw Coming
Lineberger's indictment didn't land in a vacuum.
In the same week, Quinones secured indictments against Cuban dictator Raul Castro and an alleged money launderer for Venezuelan strongman Nicolas Maduro.
His office is also overseeing a Fort Pierce grand jury – led by special prosecutor Joe diGenova – investigating whether Obama-Biden era intelligence and law enforcement officials ran a decade-long criminal conspiracy against Trump.
More than 130 subpoenas have already gone out.
James Comey got indicted on two felony counts in April.
John Brennan has been formally notified he is a target.
Peter Strzok and Lisa Page have been subpoenaed.
Quinones has assembled a 12-prosecutor civil rights unit in Fort Pierce specifically to pursue these cases.
Right in the middle of all of it, one of Smith's own people allegedly tried to steal the sealed evidence.
"It's not only a message to any prosecutor," Quinones told Just the News. "It's a message to any government employee that you have an obligation – you take an oath to work for the government – and we take that here in the Southern District of Florida very seriously."
FBI Director Kash Patel didn't stay quiet.
"This FBI will not hesitate to bring to account those who violated the trust of the American public in an investigation that should've never been brought to begin with," Patel said.
Fort Pierce Grand Jury Has Brennan Comey and Strzok in Its Sights
Lineberger was publicly praising Biden and Harris and criticizing Trump DOJ policies – while drawing a federal paycheck.
She sat on the advisory board of the National Black Prosecutors Foundation and served as a DOJ ambassador to five law schools.
She was inside the machine.
That machine spent a decade telling Americans Trump was the threat to democracy – and one of its own just got caught hiding classified files under cake recipes on her way out the door.
The Fort Pierce grand jury is not slowing down.
Brennan is a named target.
Comey is already indicted.
Strzok and Page have been subpoenaed.
Quinones took office last August with a three-part mission: "Protect Americans, restore impartial justice, and defend the rule of law."
The Lineberger indictment proves that mission runs straight back toward every Obama-Biden operative who spent years using the DOJ as a weapon against Trump.
Nobody walks free forever.
Quinones just proved it.
