Big Tech Got Caught Running a One Party News Operation and Trump’s FTC Noticed

Apple CEO Tim Cook handed Donald Trump a gold trophy in the Oval Office and pledged $100 billion to America.

His editors kept blocking every conservative outlet from millions of iPhone users anyway.

Now a bombshell study just caught the entire industry – and the federal government is done waiting.

Google News Bias Just Hit a Four Year High and It's Getting Worse

A rigorous audit by AllSides – the nonpartisan group that rates news outlets by political lean – caught Google red-handed.

Of all articles in Google News' non-personalized sections, just 1% came from right-leaning outlets.

Seventy-three percent came from the Left – and Google was the worst offender in the bunch.

Apple News ran 50% left-leaning content and just 2% from the Right in the same audit.

Microsoft's Bing News: 72% Left, 5% Right.

Yahoo News: 53% Left, 2% Right.

AllSides assigned each platform a bias ratio – negative numbers mean leftward lean, zero means perfect balance.

Google scored -1.62 – the worst of the group – with Apple right behind at -1.57 and Bing and Yahoo each at -1.55.

Every platform someone opens for the morning news is feeding them a liberal diet – without telling them.

How Big Tech Censorship Gets Built Into the Algorithm Before You Ever Open the App

These companies want you to believe their feeds are neutral, personalized to your interests, and reflect what is actually popular.

AllSides built the study to destroy that excuse.

They looked only at sections that cannot be personalized – the curated portions where human editors and algorithms make deliberate choices about what the public sees.

No user preference was skewing the results.

The bias belongs to the companies – and it is getting worse on purpose.

Google's left-leaning share has climbed every year AllSides has tracked it – 61% in 2022, 63% in 2023, 66% in 2024, 73% in 2025.

After Trump won in 2016, leaked video caught Google executives at an all-hands meeting vowing to make that election result a blip in history – and the company has been running the same playbook on its news feed ever since.

AllSides Director Julie Mastrine stated that by failing to balance their feeds, these aggregators "prevent Americans from considering multiple views and thinking independently."

Digital ethics expert Mark Grabowski concluded what the data made plain: these companies spent years claiming neutrality, and the audit makes that claim impossible to sustain.

FTC Andrew Ferguson Puts Apple News and Google on Notice Over Conservative Censorship

In February 2025, FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson launched a formal inquiry into Big Tech censorship.

"Tech firms should not be bullying their users," Ferguson said.

One year later, he sent a warning letter directly to Tim Cook.

The Media Research Center documented that in January 2026, not a single one of the top 620 featured stories on Apple News came from a right-leaning outlet.

Not one.

That is the same Tim Cook who walked into the Oval Office, handed Trump a gold trophy, and pledged $100 billion in American manufacturing investment.

His editors were running a one-party news operation the entire time.

Ferguson put Apple on notice: if the curation violates Apple's own terms of service and consumer expectations, it crosses into illegal deception under Section 5 of the FTC Act.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr backed him up: "Apple has no right to suppress conservative viewpoints in violation of the FTC Act."

Half of Americans Get Their News From These Apps and Most Have No Idea Its Biased

About half of Americans now get their news from these tech platforms.

Google News alone serves roughly 280 million users worldwide.

When Google buries conservative sources – and the data proves that is exactly what is happening – those 280 million people get a version of reality curated by a company whose Silicon Valley employees gave 88% of their political donations to Democrats in the last election cycle.

The AllSides audit shows the bias has grown every single year since at least 2022.

Dan Schneider of the Media Research Center called the findings a warning to all Americans that the most powerful corporations in the world are threatening the system of government itself.

Trump saw this coming years ago when Republicans were still giving these companies the benefit of the doubt.

He was right then.

The numbers just proved it again.
