Chris Wray lied to Congress about how many FBI agents the Biden administration planted in the January 6 crowd.
Now a federal judge just ordered the CIA to open its January 6 files by November 16.
And there are already two CIA references in a message chain they named for the day after it happened.
Judicial Watch Forces CIA to Produce the January 6 Records It Spent Two Years Hiding
In July 2024, Judicial Watch filed suit against the CIA under the Freedom of Information Act after the agency failed to respond to a March 2024 request for records about its January 6 activities – specifically, what it knew about shots fired inside the Capitol, the pipe bombs at the RNC and DNC, and whether CIA personnel were on the ground that day.
On September 24, 2026, U.S. District Judge Jia M. Cobb ordered the CIA to name a specific date it would begin producing records.
The CIA said it would not produce anything until May 2027 – ignoring the court's demand for a rolling start date and offering no explanation – so Judge Cobb set one herself: November 16, 2026.
The CIA must now hand over records on shots fired inside the Capitol, requests for bomb technicians, bomb-detecting dogs placed on standby, and whether CIA personnel were physically deployed that day.
The records also include text messages filed under the heading "January 7 Intel Chain" – named for the day after the riot – and those messages contain two separate CIA references.
Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch, called it the CIA's "utter contempt for the American people's right to know."
The CIA has one job – foreign intelligence – and domestic operations are illegal under its own charter.
Yet CIA bomb technicians were dispatched to both the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee after pipe bombs turned up the night before January 6.
Under the CIA's own charter, those bomb technicians had no legal authority to operate on American soil.
274 FBI Agents in the Crowd and a CIA Intel Chain They Called January 7
The House January 6 Committee – the one Nancy Pelosi handpicked to destroy Donald Trump – never mentioned CIA involvement.
They had access to every document, every agency report ever filed about that day, and they chose to hide it – now we know why.
The FBI admitted it had 274 plainclothes agents embedded in the crowd that day.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the number and confirmed that former Director Christopher Wray deployed them against FBI standards – and then lied to Congress under oath about it.
Trump put it directly on Truth Social: "THE BIDEN FBI PLACED 274 AGENTS INTO THE CROWD ON JANUARY 6."
"A lot of very good people will be owed big apologies."
The same people who spent four years calling January 6 the worst attack on democracy since the Civil War had 274 federal agents embedded in the crowd while it happened.
Add CIA operators to that number – operators who already turn up in a post-riot intel chain – and you are not looking at a spontaneous riot.
You are looking at the most surveilled political crowd in American history, run by agencies that were legally prohibited from being there.
The CIA stonewalled a March 2024 FOIA request for two and a half years, then defied a court order when a judge demanded a rolling production start date – agencies with clean hands don't fight like that.
In 1956, J. Edgar Hoover launched COINTELPRO – a secret program to infiltrate, surveil, and destroy American political movements the government did not like.
It ran for 15 years before Congress found out.
January 6 is COINTELPRO with smartphones and a prime-time committee.
The FBI embedded agents against its own standards while the CIA – legally barred from domestic operations entirely – had operators on the ground.
The committee built to investigate those agencies buried the evidence instead.
And more than 1,500 Americans were charged in connection with January 6 while the federal agents who were actually in that crowd went home to collect paychecks.
Trump pardoned every one of those Americans.
The CIA's files are due November 16.
If those "January 7 Intel Chain" messages confirm what Judicial Watch has spent two years trying to uncover – that the CIA ran domestic operations against American citizens at a political event – then everything Democrats told you about January 6 was a lie from the very beginning.
The setup theory isn't a fringe conspiracy anymore – it's a federal court order the CIA cannot ignore.
