Democrats spent years accusing Republicans of welcoming foreign money into American elections.
Their own fundraising machine just had every single executive take the Fifth before Congress.
And James Comer says what his committees uncovered in ActBlue's files is just the beginning.
ActBlue Fired the Whistleblowers and the Law Firm That Said It Misled Congress
ActBlue is the Left's ATM – the online donation platform used by AOC, Chuck Schumer and the Democrat leaders of the House and Senate to raise money.
It has processed nearly $20 billion since its 2004 founding, and right now every dollar of it is under a microscope.
By February 2025, the company was in full internal meltdown.
Congressional investigators – armed with internal Slack messages – found that most of ActBlue's legal team had walked out the door.
The last in-house attorney who stayed said he faced illegal retaliation for raising concerns, and ActBlue's Director of IT, Hanna Bonin, simply deleted his messages.
The platform had also retained Covington & Burling – one of Washington's most prestigious law firms.
ActBlue cut them loose in March 2025, one month after the internal revolt began, after Covington warned that the company's foreign donor screening did not match what ActBlue had told Congress.
Their lawyers told them they were breaking the law, and they fired the lawyers – that is not a compliance problem, that is a cover-up.
ActBlue Supervisors Approved Hong Kong Donations They Knew Violated Campaign Finance Law
The congressional report released last week included excerpts from ActBlue's own internal communications – and they should alarm every American who has ever made a political donation.
One memo called a flagged contribution a "great accept" – then noted the donor's internet address traced back to Hong Kong.
Another showed a supervisor overruling a rejected contribution, arguing it "should have been accepted." The justification: "It is a foreign contribution, but the name/email match, the IP/billing match, a full address with the correct country code, and there were previously accepted and successful contributions."
Federal law prohibits foreign nationals from donating to American campaigns – ActBlue supervisors saw foreign contributions coming in, knew what they were, and waved them through anyway.
In yet another case, an employee acknowledged "all signs point to this person being from Canada" – but the donation went through after identity was confirmed using a Twitter account.
ActBlue told Congress it verifies foreign donors by requiring passport numbers. Congressional investigators discovered that "verification" only checked whether the passport number contained the right number of characters – it never ran the number against any government database. A completely fabricated passport number would have passed their system as long as it was the right length.
Comer and Jordan Expand Election Fraud Probe as Missouri Opens Its Own Investigation
"Our investigation into ActBlue is far from over," House Oversight Chairman James Comer told Fox News Digital. "We expect more documents and testimony in the weeks ahead."
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan's office confirmed the committee "will continue aggressive oversight of ActBlue, including additional depositions."
Ten ActBlue employees and board members – including co-founder Matt DeBergalis – appeared before Congress and refused to answer a single question, and their CEO did the same in a public hearing. You invoke the Fifth when your honest answers would incriminate you.
House Administration Chairman Bryan Steil added: "All options are on the table to ensure we get to the bottom of what is going on at ActBlue."
The Missouri AG launched her own investigation last week, and Texas AG Ken Paxton filed suit against the platform in April, accusing it of enabling "rampant donor fraud."
ActBlue's response to all of it? "There's nothing to see here." They called the entire investigation "a political stunt" and insisted Republicans are simply trying to "silence organizations they believe threaten their agenda."
The people currently invoking the Fifth said that.
The Left's biggest fundraising machine is not some shadowy foreign PAC – it is the platform AOC, Schumer and every House and Senate Democrat is counting on to hold their seats in November.
Democrats spent years raising hundreds of millions of dollars off the claim that Republicans were inviting foreign money into American elections. Their own fundraising platform was waving through donations from Hong Kong the whole time, while their CEO told Congress everything was fine.
She won't repeat that under oath.
