Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a shocking exit from the British Royal Family.
They have since sucked up to American entertainment celebrities.
But Harry and Meghan were shocked when a comedian roasted them with this joke.
Harry and Meghan mocked at Netflix event
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle threw the Royal Family under the bus in their shocking interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
Since then, they have stayed relevant by continuing to attack the family that they claim they want to escape from.
The Sussex Royals moved to Hollywood in an attempt to become entertainment moguls, but it has not worked out.
Their projects have largely gone bust.
And the two got roasted by comedian John Mulaney at a Netflix event.
Mulaney first told a joke about his live talk show that’s set to premiere on the streaming service in March.
He told the crowd, “This will be the one place where you [might] see Arnold Schwarzenegger sitting next to Nikki Glaser sitting next to a family therapist with music by Mannequin Pussy.”
Mulaney then took a jab at the prince and princess.
He continued, “This is a really fun experiment. Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan.”
Mulaney’s joke reportedly stunned the crowd.
The Daily Mail reported that the “Hollywood audience responded with ‘snickering’ and a few ‘whoas’, according to a source in the auditorium last night. . .Harry and Meghan reportedly signed a $100 million five-year deal in 2020 to supply material to the streaming giant, which now claims to be the biggest in the world with more than 300 million subscribers.”
Getting desperate
Meghan Markle’s latest attempt at a breakthrough is the cooking show With Love, Meghan.
If this show flops, Harry and Meghan could be out of movies.
They already wore out their welcome at Spotify.
The music streaming giant did not renew their contract after they failed to produce podcasts that gained any traction.
Harry and Meghan also seem to be well past the honeymoon phase with the media.
Entertainment media mogul Bill Simmons, whose company The Ringer was purchased by Spotify for $200 million, ripped the Sussex Royals during a 2023 podcast episode.
Simmons remarked, “I wish I had been involved in the ‘Meghan and Harry leave Spotify’ negotiation. . .‘The F***ing Grifters.’ That’s the podcast we should’ve launched with them. I gotta get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It’s one of my best stories. F*** them. The grifters.”
Such a comment would have been unthinkable when Harry and Meghan were walking on air after their Oprah interview.
People are tired of their shtick.
Meghan Markle was even accused of “disaster tourism” when she made a sudden appearance in Los Angeles amid the wildfires.
Prior to that, Markle descended on Uvalde, Texas in the aftermath of the tragic school shooting.
