Democrats told the world John Bolton's criminal charges were a political hit job – then he pleaded guilty.
Now Democrats are saying the exact same thing about the federal raid on Ilhan Omar.
Lauren Boebert just named the one man who proves they are wrong.
Why the Ilhan Omar Immigration Fraud Probe Started Under Biden Not Trump
Rep. Lauren Boebert went on Newsmax and pointed to the one fact the hit job crowd cannot explain.
"Media hacks calling this a politically motivated hit job said the same thing about John Bolton until they realized the investigation into John Bolton started under Biden," Boebert said.
"And oh, guess what? He pled guilty."
The Biden administration's own Justice Department opened a financial investigation into Ilhan Omar in June 2024 – months before Trump's second inauguration.
If this is a Trump political hit job, Biden's Justice Department started it.
"A federal judge signed off on this warrant," Boebert said. "So this is not a political hit job. It's law enforcement following the evidence in years-long probes into immigration fraud."
JD Vance told reporters this year that the DOJ has an active criminal investigation into Omar's alleged immigration fraud.
Border czar Tom Homan confirmed on Fox News that DHS and ICE are examining whether Omar committed "immigration or naturalization fraud" – adding that no one, including members of Congress, is above the law.
When HSI agents showed up at Omar's DC home at 6am Monday, they walked out carrying boxes of documents.
Omar left her residence less than 30 minutes before agents arrived – and someone needs to answer how she knew they were coming.
No one has confirmed she was tipped off.
The Birth Year Change That Could Strip Ilhan Omar of Her US Citizenship
The immigration fraud investigation centers on paperwork Omar's late father completed when she was a child – and whether he made false statements that could now cost her the citizenship she used to get into Congress.
But the scope has grown far beyond immigration paperwork.
Omar's congressional staff quietly changed her official birth year on government records from 1981 to 1982 in May 2019.
The Minnesota Legislature's own records confirm it: as of May 24, 2019, "Rep. Omar's congressional staff are working with Wikipedia and the U.S. House to correct her birth year in those sources."
Her staff simultaneously worked to change the year in the Biographical Directory of the United States Congress.
That 1981 date had run in the BBC, in major American newspapers, and in the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library's own records from her first state legislative race through her early months in Congress.
Under federal immigration law at the time, a child could only receive automatic citizenship through a naturalized parent before turning 18.
Omar has said her family completed the naturalization process in 2000.
If she was born in 1981, she was 18 or 19 in 2000 – too old to qualify for automatic citizenship as a minor.
If she was born in 1982, she was 17 – and eligible.
Her staff made that one-year adjustment shortly after a video questioning her citizenship went viral.
US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro confirmed Tuesday that her office is also examining Omar's finances – including a winery listed on her 2023 financial disclosure at between $15,000 and $50,000, revalued at up to $5 million a year later, and shut down with $650 in its bank account once investigators started asking questions.
Omar entered Congress in 2019 with a negative net worth.
By 2024, her financial disclosures showed household assets of as much as $30 million.
President Trump posted Tuesday asking how a net worth she reported at $30 million collapsed overnight to a claimed $100,000 – and whether the first number was actually the accurate one.
Ilhan Omar Grand Jury Subpoenas and the Denaturalization Process Explained
Omar issued a defiant statement after Monday's raid: "This is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. I will not be silenced."
Grand juries do not care about statements.
The New York Times reported Tuesday evening that federal investigators have issued grand jury subpoenas to Omar's family members.
Her sister, Sahra Noor, received one, along with at least one other family member.
Grand jury subpoenas require evidence presented to American citizens – not Trump appointees – sufficient to conclude that those individuals have testimony or documents material to a federal criminal case.
Democrats called Bolton's investigation political – until he pleaded guilty.
Denaturalization is not a fine or a suspension – it means losing the citizenship that got her into Congress in the first place.
The subpoenas have gone out to Omar's family, the evidence boxes are in federal hands, and Boebert called it before the ink was dry.
They always say it's political – right up until it isn't.
