The FBI used a fake Russian dossier to spy on Donald Trump – and the agents who signed off on it retired with full benefits.
Kash Patel just found a secret room at FBI headquarters holding 2 million pages they never processed and never disclosed.
And a federal judge found out what the FBI intends to do about it.
The room wasn't on the building map.
A Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility – a SCIF – holding 20 five-drawer filing cabinets stuffed with documents that had never been processed through standard FBI records procedures.
The cabinets were packed with burn bags, boxes dating to the James Comey era, and safes the FBI still hasn't fully opened – none of it digitized, never entered into standard records systems, and never searched in response to prior FOIA requests.
Dan Bongino went on Fox News in May 2025 and described what they found: "There was a room [in FBI Headquarters], and we found stuff. A lot of stuff … hidden from us at least and not mentioned to us."
He told viewers: "You're going to be stunned."
The documents include records from Crossfire Hurricane – the FBI's discredited Trump-Russia probe that Special Counsel John Durham concluded was seriously flawed and unsupported by credible evidence – along with Jack Smith materials and other records tied directly to the federal government's years-long lawfare campaign against Donald Trump.
How the FBI Is Stonewalling Judicial Watch on Crossfire Hurricane Documents
Judicial Watch filed a FOIA request in October 2025 demanding every record in that room.
The FBI never responded, so Judicial Watch sued in November 2025.
Then, in a Joint Status Report the FBI told U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich exactly how fast it planned to move: 500 pages a month.
"The FBI just told a federal judge in this case that, based on the rate of production, 500 a month, it will take 158 years to process the records in the hidden room, the burn bag room," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said. "158 years."
The FBI hasn't even opened all the safes yet.
"They've got a safe they haven't looked through yet," Fitton said.
The FBI is also claiming it has no records responsive to questions about internal communications between Patel, Bongino, and their staffs regarding the room's discovery.
Judicial Watch is challenging that claim as well.
The FBI Weaponization Records a Federal Judge Now Wants Answered
Judicial Watch isn't just asking for the documents.
They're asking a federal judge to compel the FBI to answer under oath how 2 million pages of Russiagate material ended up in burn bags inside a room that didn't appear on any blueprint – and why none of it was ever searched when Judicial Watch filed prior FOIA requests.
Fitton wondered: "Why didn't you search this room? Why didn't the FBI search this room in response to our other FOIA lawsuits and FOIA requests?"
Those records weren't hidden by accident.
The Epstein comparison tells the story: the government processed over 3 million Epstein-related pages quickly when it had to.
"I know these are more important than the Epstein files," Fitton said, "and the Epstein files demonstrate, when the pressure's on, they can release 3 million plus records relatively quickly."
On August 3, 2026, U.S. District Judge Friedrich ordered the Justice Department to answer Judicial Watch's questions by early September.
The FBI is fighting the discovery request.
Comey's people buried those records in an off-map room – and for years, not one person inside the bureau said a word.
Now a federal judge is forcing them to answer for it.
"The FBI isn't above the law," Fitton said, "and they're hiding records from the American people required to be released under the Freedom of Information Act – not in 158 years, but according to the law, in 20 days."
