Elon Musk wants to throw entire federal agencies into a woodchipper.
That’s why he’s in the crosshairs of Democrats.
And Jesse Watters was shocked to discover one awful mistake Democrats made fighting Elon Musk.
Democrat strategist warns his party opposing wasteful spending is foolish
Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has pulled back the curtain on the federal government’s wasteful spending.
President Donald Trump shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) after DOGE exposed that the agency had been turned into a slush fund for woke spending.
USAID was using its more than $50 billion budget to pay for sex change operations in Guatemala, fund transgender comic books in South America, and put on workplace seminars on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in Serbia.
Democrats had been struggling for a message during Trump’s Presidency because of the lightning speed of his executive actions.
They decided to concentrate their fire on Musk and DOGE for shining a spotlight on waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government.
Democrat strategist Dan Turrentine calls balls and strikes as the co-host of the Morning Meeting podcast with veteran political journalist Mark Halperin.
Turrentine told Fox News host Jesse Watters that Democrats’ strategy of opposing Musk is “terrible.”
Watters asked him if making Musk the center of attention was a good idea for Democrats.
“Terrible. Look, the number one thing in politics is you want to respect people, listen to them, and solve their problems,” Turrentine said. “But what have we been doing the last nine years and certainly the last, like, month? We talk about who, and we talk about how, right? Elon Musk. Donald Trump. What we’re forgetting? What they’re doing.”
Common sense isn’t so common isn’t so common
Turrentine argued that Democrats crying wolf about everything makes voters tune them out.
“We’re failing the common sense test,” Turrentine explained. “Rather than saying, ‘Hey, some of what they’re finding, anybody in their right mind would say we should end it.’ Instead, we scream about everything. And so when we find stuff that, in our opinion, probably is worthy of a discussion, the average voter says, ‘Forget it.’”
He added that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) should tone down his antics.
“All you do is scream, ‘No,’ and ‘They’re crazy.’ Look, I think as much as I like Chuck Schumer, he’s a terrible dancer and an even worse singer. So, yes, I would stay out of it,” Turrentine stated.
Democrats have decided their “hill to die on” is defending wasteful government spending because Trump wants to eliminate it.
Even a staffer to former President Barack Obama admitted that DOGE is doing something that Democrats should have embraced.
“Honestly, some of this is pretty annoying because it’s some of the stuff we should’ve done. We didn’t know you could do some of this,” former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett said on his Pod Save America podcast.
The Democrat Party is fighting a losing battle by trying to attack Trump and Musk over eliminating wasteful spending and making the government more efficient.
