The Left wants nothing more than to take Fox News off the air.
It is the only mainstream network that doesn’t completely bow down to left-wing orthodoxy.
And Fox News just got smacked with a lawsuit that could take them off the air forever.
Fox News is by far the most popular television news station in America.
They got there by being different, and not constantly pushing far-left lies on the air.
For doing that, the Left has painted them as an enemy that must be destroyed.
A good chunk of programming on fake news networks like CNN and MSNBC is dedicated to attacking Fox News.
They have even led advertiser boycotts to get big business to refuse to air ads on the network to try to bankrupt them.
None of that has worked as Fox News continues to dominate the airwaves.
But that may change with a new lawsuit that Dominion Voting Systems dropped on the network.
Dominion’s name was repeatedly thrown around on the network with allegations of improprieties in the 2020 election, which led many people to believe they caused Joe Biden to unfairly win.
After Fox News’ guests failed to provide any actual evidence of wrongdoing by Dominion Voting Systems, Dominion felt their name was unfairly dragged through the mud.
And for it, Dominion Voting Systems believes they are liable for $1.6 billion damages.
That is half of the earnings the network made last year alone, meaning that if this lawsuit is successful, it would be devastating for the news network.
In the lawsuit they cite Fox News commentators Tucker Carlson, Jeanine Pirro, Sean Hannity, and Maria Bartiromo, and former host Lou Dobbs, stating that they “recklessly disregarded the truth.”
“Fox took a small flame and turned it into a forest fire,” the lawsuit reads. “As the dominant media company among those viewers dissatisfied with the election results, Fox gave these fictions a prominence they otherwise would never have achieved. With Fox’s global platform, an audience of hundreds of millions, and the inevitable and extensive republication and dissemination of the falsehoods through social media, these lies deeply damaged Dominion’s once-thriving business.”
Fox News denies the allegations made against them.
“FOX News Media is proud of our 2020 election coverage, which stands in the highest tradition of American journalism, and will vigorously defend against this baseless lawsuit in court,” the network wrote in a statement.
This lawsuit is clearly an attempt to chill the speech of anybody questioning the 2020 election.
But tens of millions of Americans are already well aware of the many improprieties, making that a very difficult task.
