Joe Biden has been a disaster as president.
His foreign policy blunders have been near the top of the list.
And Donald Trump ripped Joe Biden for this shocking foreign policy move.
Joe Biden finally secured the release of WNBA player Brittney Griner, who had been languishing in a Russian prison after an arrest for drug paraphernalia.
Many WNBA players play overseas to supplement their income; apparently Griner was dissatisfied with making $228,000 plus endorsements in America.
Nevertheless, Biden swapped Griner for notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout, whose nickname is the Merchant of Death.
Biden was not able to bring home former Marine Paul Whelan, who has been rotting in Russia prison for years on bogus charges.
In response to the trade, Donald Trump said, “She went in there loaded up with drugs into a hostile territory where they’re very vigilant about drugs. They don’t like drugs. And she got caught. And now we’re supposed to get her…She makes a lot of money, I guess. But we’re supposed to get her out for an absolute killer, and one of the biggest arms dealers in the world. Killed many Americans, killed many people, and he’s gonna get a free card.”
Griner learned the hard way that other countries do not share America’s lax drug laws.
Trump continued, “She knew you don’t go in there loaded up with drugs and she admitted it. I assume she admitted it without too much force, because it is what it is…It certainly doesn’t seem like a very good trade, does it? He’s an absolute one of the worst in the world and he’s going to be given his freedom because a potentially spoiled person goes into Russia loaded up with drugs.”
Bout was allegedly the inspiration for the 2005 Nicolas Cage film Lord of War.
In 2012, Bout boasted, “They will try to lock me up for life…But I’ll get back to Russia. I don’t know when. But I’m still young. Your empire will collapse and I’ll get out of here.”
Griner previously participated in the anti-American anthem protests started by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, but she struck a different chord regarding America when she was locked up behind bars.
Griner wrote on the Fourth of July, “As I sit here in a Russian prison, alone with my thoughts and without the protection of my wife, family, friends, Olympics jersey, or any accomplishments, I’m terrified I might be here forever. On the 4th of July, our family normally honors the service of those who fought for our freedom, including my father who is a Vietnam War Veteran. It hurts thinking about how I usually celebrate this day because freedom means something completely different to me this year.”
Maybe now Griner will be more appreciative of what she has in America.
