China is expanding its totalitarian crackdowns.
American tech companies are helping them.
And Bernie Sanders will love this jaw-dropping move a cell phone giant just made for Communist China.
The Chinese Communist Party is clamping down on free speech even more than before.
Mainland China essentially annexed Hong Kong, and they’re attempting to remove a memorial of the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.
The CCP is stopping its citizens from using Bible and Quran apps.
Now Socialist U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders – a widely rumored atheist, according to leaked emails from Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign – is surely jealous of the CCP and Apple’s move to crack down on religion.
From U.S. News & World Report:
Amazon’s audiobook service Audible and phone apps for reading the holy books of Islam and Christianity have disappeared from the Apple store in mainland China, in the latest examples of the country’s tightening rules for internet firms. Audible said in a statement Friday that it removed its app from the Apple store in mainland China last month “due to permit requirements.” The makers of apps for reading and listening to the Quran and Bible say their apps have also been removed from Apple’s China-based store at the government’s request.
Big tech has shown a willingness to abide by any edicts from the CCP.
Google was working on Project Dragonfly, a heavily censored search engine for China, but the corporation was shamed into stopping the project after the details linked.
The CCP has put Uyghur Muslims in concentration camps, where they’re effectively slave labor.
Meanwhile, woke corporations like Disney, Nike, and Apple have largely turned a blind eye.
Christians, Muslims, and other religious groups face constant persecution in Mainland China.
Communist leaders largely abhor religion because it can undermine the state.
U.S. News & World Report continued:
The maker of a Bible app said it also removed its app from the Apple store in China after learning from Apple’s App Store review process that it needed special permission to distribute an app with “book or magazine content.” Olive Tree Bible Software, based in Spokane, Washington, said it’s now reviewing the requirements to obtain the necessary permit “with the hope that we can restore our app to China’s App Store and continue to distribute the Bible worldwide.”
When communist leaders seize power they’re always quick to confiscate guns and shut down — or co-opt the churches.
That goes along with further tightening on the free speech restrictions that usually helped them rise to power.
Now, after globalist assured everyone China was liberalizing, the CCP is proving the want to stamp out all traces of religion again.
Edward Ahmed Mitchell from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said in a statement:
“This decision must be reversed…If American corporations don’t grow a spine and stand up to China right now, they risk spending the next century subservient to the whims of a fascist superpower.”
More companies need to stand up to the CCP before its values get exported across the globe.
