The left-wing media spent years pretending they had principled sources inside government – brave whistleblowers protecting democracy.
Now one of those sources just got caught.
The Secret Service just identified who did it – and that agent's life is about to change.
Secret Service Agent Placed on Administrative Leave in JD Vance Leak Investigation
A Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President JD Vance's protective detail now faces possible criminal charges after allegedly leaking sensitive travel information to MS NOW.
The Secret Service confirmed the investigation in a statement that left nothing to interpretation.
"A member of the Vice Presidential Protective Division is the subject of an administrative investigation, and potential criminal inquiry, involving allegations of compromising operational and information security," Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi told the New York Post.
"Any conduct that potentially threatens the safety of a protectee will not be tolerated."
The suspected leak traces to an MS NOW story published July 15 – a piece that exposed Vance's Secret Service codename "Bobcat," detailed his family's private helicopter movements, and revealed that agents on his detail had minted unofficial coins and stickers mocking the Vice President under the slogan "Bobcat OTR Survivors Club."
Publishing the Vice President's codename is not journalism – it is a gift to anyone tracking his movements.
Helicopter routes, movement patterns, and schedule details handed to a cable outlet are something else entirely: a road map.
The agent allegedly handed all of it to MS NOW anyway.
Trump Crackdown on Government Leakers Reaches Vance Secret Service Detail
This suspension does not happen in a vacuum.
The Trump administration declared war on internal leakers months ago – and the Vance leak stepped directly into that crossfire.
Acting AG Todd Blanche has authorized prosecutors to use subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants to pursue classified leaks.
Pete Hegseth and the Justice Department established a joint task force specifically to "identify and prosecute leakers."
Trump himself – according to the Wall Street Journal – handed Acting AG Blanche a stack of offending articles with a single word written across them in his own handwriting: "treason."
The New York Times had four reporters subpoenaed this month over leaks related to the Qatar Air Force One story.
A White House teleprompter staffer was suspended just last week for using privileged information to place bets on a prediction market.
The agent who fed Vance's travel schedule to MS NOW chose the worst possible moment to test the administration's tolerance for betrayal.
Secret Service Faces Record 10000 Threats as Agent Leaked Vance Security Details
The damage here is not abstract.
Secret Service Director Sean Curran told reporters this week that his agency has opened probes into 10,000 threats against protectees so far in 2026 – roughly 40 percent higher than the same period last year.
"The environment has become very volatile," Curran said.
"The threat picture and environment is as large as I've ever seen it."
Into that environment, a sworn agent fed a left-wing cable news outlet the Vice President's codename and family movement patterns – details that exist specifically to keep him alive.
Vance's office defended the family's travel decisions and offered context the MS NOW story omitted entirely.
The vice presidential helicopter is used specifically to avoid shutting down public roads – something Usha Vance addressed directly in a June interview, explaining that motorcades force churches to delay Mass and trap ordinary citizens behind magnetometers.
The Joint Base Andrews golf trip, the one MS NOW turned into a scandal, was scrapped due to bad weather – and was planned at a secure military installation precisely so it would not disrupt public life.
None of that context made the cut when the agent decided to talk.
What made the cut was the codename, the routes, and the coins.
The agent who leaked all of that to MS NOW is now the one whose career is in jeopardy.
