John Kennedy Delivered One Smackdown of the Democrat Socialists That Has the Left Fuming

The Democrat Party spent years insisting Bernie Sanders was a fringe voice.

Now they just watched his endorsed Senate candidate implode under rape allegations – and his socialist movement keep winning anyway.

And John Kennedy just went on Fox News and gave a brutal diagnosis of the socialist revolution.

Kennedy Says DSA Takeover of the Democrat Party Is No Longer a Theory

Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana has seen enough.

Appearing on America Reports, Kennedy lit into the Democratic Socialists of America and the radical faction now muscling establishment Democrats out of their own party.

"I guess it's not a newsflash that the Graham-Platner wing of the Democratic Party is in control," Kennedy said.

He added that their positions would raise red flags almost anywhere outside a deep blue zip code.

"They say things that would get them a psychiatric evaluation in the rest of the country."

Kennedy said he initially gave them the benefit of the doubt.

"At first, I thought, well, these people are just misinformed, Sandra. They're the product of 50 years of high school civics being taught by football coaches."

He no longer believes that.

"But then I realize they're serious. They're serious as an aneurysm."

DSA-backed candidates have now racked up more than 35 primary victories in the 2026 cycle. Socialist-aligned insurgents ousted a 15-term incumbent in Denver. Zohran Mamdani, the avowed socialist now running New York City, endorsed three congressional candidates – and all three won.

The DSA's official 2026 platform calls for abolishing ICE, the Supreme Court, and federal prisons, along with reparations, state-run health care, rent control, and amnesty for illegal aliens. The organization has grown from roughly 6,000 members in 2015 to over 100,000 today.

That is not a fringe movement anymore. That is the ascendant wing of one of America's two major political parties, and Democrat leadership has spent this entire election cycle either endorsing it or getting out of its way.

Kennedy's verdict was blunt.

"Socialism, I think history has proven, is for morons."

Kennedy Says Socialism Is for Morons and Names the Countries That Prove It

Kennedy did not stop at the headline — he walked through the evidence country by country.

"Just look at Cuba and Argentina before changes there. Venezuela, China, the old USSR."

Every country on that list tried socialism and produced poverty, repression, or collapse. Kennedy pointed out that the Americans now pushing this ideology do not seem eager to relocate.

"I notice that all of these neo-socialists – they don't want to go live in a socialist country. They want to live here."

Kennedy also ticked through the specific policies driving the Democrat Party's socialist wing.

"They want to, I don't know, kill all the millionaires, open all the prisons, open the borders, defund the cops, defund ICE. Every single one of them knows the words to the Cuban national anthem."

The DSA is not hiding what it wants — and Democrat Party leadership is standing aside and letting it happen.

Bernie Sanders Built This Socialist Machine and Now Democrats Cannot Stop It

Former Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner was supposed to be the proof of concept.

Bernie Sanders campaigned alongside him in Maine. The socialist base crushed the Democrat establishment candidate – two-term Gov. Janet Mills – in fundraising and polling. Platner won the primary by riding the same wave of socialist energy that has been building since 2016.

Then a rape allegation surfaced, Democrats cut him loose, and Platner quit.

The movement did not quit with him. Maine Democrats scrambled to find a replacement while DSA chapters in New York and Colorado kept winning races. The machine does not depend on any one candidate — it depends on the ideology, and the ideology is spreading.

Kennedy sees the pattern clearly. The party that once tried to keep Sanders at arm's length handed him the keys. Now, with less than four months until November, a movement that openly wants to abolish ICE and empty the prisons is on track to double its presence in Congress.

If Democrats win the House with a narrow margin, a handful of DSA members could hold the deciding votes on every piece of legislation that comes to the floor.

Kennedy called them "crazy as a bedbug." The voters who put them there called them the future of the Democrat Party.
