George Soros spent $1.7 million to put Larry Krasner behind Philadelphia's prosecutor desk.
Now that investment is paying dividends – just not for Philadelphia.
What he said next is the kind of thing that gets a regular American fired – or arrested.
Krasner's Exact Words on the White House Ballroom
Soros-backed Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner wasn't in a back room or a private fundraiser. He delivered these remarks at a slavery commemoration event at President George Washington's home in Old City – a public ceremony with cameras rolling.
"There will not be a ballroom," Krasner declared. "What is going to be happening is that in about 10 to 15 years, we are all going to be sitting here with smiles on our faces, because we will have won."
"I'm going to have a paperweight sitting on my desk. And do you know what that paperweight's going to be? It's going to be a piece of the ballroom after we all blow it up."
He then called President Trump a "pain in the ass" and "the embodiment of hate, the embodiment of ignorance, and the embodiment of depriving people of their vote and education."
When asked about the remarks afterward, Krasner said he stands by them "100%."
The Soros-Funded Philadelphia DA Who Lets Criminals Walk
Larry Krasner is the sitting district attorney of America's sixth-largest city – the man legally responsible for protecting Philadelphia's residents from violent crime.
He has had that job since 2018, when George Soros poured nearly $1.7 million into a PAC to put him there. That investment bought roughly 59,000 primary votes at approximately $33 per vote – handing Soros effective control of Philadelphia's prosecutorial power for less than the cost of a mid-tier political ad buy.
What did Soros get for his money? A DA whose office, in his early years, dropped or lost 26% more felony cases than his predecessor, including 55% of drug sales cases – nearly double the prior dismissal rate.
A prosecutor so disconnected from his city's safety that he threatened a federal construction project 140 miles away in Washington, D.C.
"It's disgusting that a district attorney in Philadelphia who, by the way, has a city with its own problems, is so focused on what the president is doing at the White House," Attorney General Todd Blanche said on Fox News.
Blanche then delivered the part Krasner didn't want to hear: "The ballroom is being built. It's not stopped."
White House Ballroom Construction Moves Forward Despite Democrat Lawfare
Krasner's fantasy of an "official ceremony" to detonate Trump's White House addition runs into the Supreme Court of the United States.
After U.S. District Judge Richard Leon attempted to halt White House Ballroom construction, SCOTUS issued a temporary order allowing the project to proceed. Democrats – including roughly 150 members of Congress – have filed legal briefs trying to stop it. Every attempt has failed.
The 90,000-square-foot facility, funded by private donations rather than taxpayer dollars, is on track for completion around September 2028.
Here is what the Left doesn't want to say out loud: the White House has needed a proper ballroom for generations.
The East Room holds 200 people. Large state events get pushed into tents on the South Lawn. Trump first raised the idea with Barack Obama's team back in 2010 – offering to put up his own money.
After the shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner this past April, even Democrat Sen. Jacky Rosen of Nevada acknowledged: "Do we need a ballroom? Well, that, we can discuss that. This isn't about Donald Trump. It is really about safety."
The Commission of Fine Arts fast-tracked approval, with its chairman saying the United States should not be entertaining world leaders in tents. None of that stopped the lawfare. The moment Trump made it his project, Democrats made opposition their religion.
Krasner built his blow-it-up speech on the claim that "taxpayer money" is being wasted. It isn't.
He either didn't know the ballroom is privately funded – which makes him incompetent – or knew it and said it anyway, which makes him a liar.
A sitting district attorney called for blowing up a federal construction project on White House grounds. On camera. Krasner owns every word.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia waits for its DA to show up for work.
