Joe Biden’s administration is crumbling.

Several members of his cabinet have been exposed as incompetent or corrupt.

And Matt Gaetz pulled one jaw-dropping admission from Biden’s top general.

Among Joe Biden’s failures as President, perhaps his worst has been foreign policy.

Biden botched the withdrawal from Afghanistan, he practically invited Vladimir Putin to make a “minor incursion” into Ukraine, and war in the Middle East broke out on his watch.

Boots on the ground

Now, the Biden administration could put American boots on the ground in harm’s way in the Gaza war between Israel and Hamas.

In light of billions of dollars of funding for Israel, the U.S. military is helping construct a pier in Gaza reportedly to deliver humanitarian aid.

That could put U.S. troops in the middle of a hot war.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) questioned Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin about the tenuous project during a Congressional hearing.

Gaetz said to Lloyed that “there will be about 1,000 U.S. servicemembers operating a pier system off of Gaza. How many of them will have guns, Mr. Secretary?”

Secretary Austin responded, “Typically, all of the deployed servicemembers carry guns and they have the ability to protect themselves if challenged.”

Gaetz replied, “So if someone from land and Gaza shoots at our servicemembers who are on the $320 million pier that we’re building, you’re telling me our service members can shoot back.”

“They have the right to return fire to protect themselves,” said Austin.

Gaetz then asked if “someone from land and Gaza might shoot at our service members on this pier. Do you think that that’s a likely scenario?”

Austin answered, “That’s possible. Yes.”

Gaetz responded, “This is a very telling moment, Mr. Secretary, because you’ve said something that’s quite possible. That could happen, right? Shots from Gaza on our servicemembers, and then the response, our Armed Service members shooting live fire into Gaza.”

Secretary Austin confirmed, “That’s correct.”

Congressman Gaetz followed up, “You think that counts as boots on the ground? President Biden told the country that we weren’t going to have boots on the ground in Gaza.”

Semantic games

Austin shockingly responded, “And we won’t.”

Austin just said that American troops could get shot at, but that would not constitute boots on the ground.

Gaetz said, “Okay, but you guys parse the distinction between like when Americans think boots on the ground, they think Americans in harm’s way, are engaged actively in a conflict. You guys seem to be sort of saying that boots on a pier, connected to the ground, connected to servicemembers shooting into Gaza, doesn’t count as boots on the ground.”

Austin responded, “It does not.”

That is truly remarkable.

These are the word games that Biden officials are playing, and that could mean life or death for U.S. troops.

Democrats and their media allies scared voters into thinking that Donald Trump could set off World War III, but it’s Biden who pushed Europe into a land war, and a Middle Eastern war broke out on his watch that could put American servicemembers in jeopardy.
