Big Tech companies are finally coming under the gun.
They have been pushing harmful products with little consequence.
Now Mark Zuckerberg is in hot water after one jaw-dropping admission.
Big Tech algorithms have been scrutinized heavily in recent years because of the destructive effects they can have on developing minds.
A Wall Street Journal study illustrated that minors were being fed increasingly inappropriate videos, such as drug content and sexually explicit content.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been under fire because of predatory practices regarding Facebook and Instagram.
Zuckerberg appeared at a Senate hearing on “Big Tech and the Online Child Sexual Exploitation Crisis,” and he made a shocking admission during his testimony.
During a heated exchange, Senator Josh Hawley grilled Zuckerberg and asked, “So you didn’t take any action. You didn’t fire anybody. You haven’t compensated a single victim. Let me ask you this: there are families of victims here today. Have you apologized to the victims? They’re here. You’re on national television. Would you like to apologize for what you’ve done to these good people?”
A rare move raises suspicions
Zuckerberg shockingly stood up and apologized to the families in the room.
He said, “I’m sorry for everything you’ve all gone through. Nobody should have to go through what your families have suffered. This is why we have invested so much and are going to continue industry-leading efforts to make sure that no one has to go through the types of things your families have suffered.”
NEW: Josh Hawley goes off on Mark Zuckerberg and forces him to stand up, turn around and apologize to families who were impacted by child exploitation on META platforms.

Zuckerberg chose his words carefully, but any admission could be used against him in a civil suit.
Big Tech executives have been under the microscope because they know how addictive their products can be.
They intentionally gamify their social media sites to encourage more and more participation.
The sites are engineered to provide a dopamine response.
Cyborgs in the making
For that reason, Big Tech executives have admitted they limit their own children’s screen time exposure.
Some have said outright that they do not allow their kids to use tablets and smartphones.
Retro tech like flip phones are actually making a comeback for that reason.
Social media has operated like one giant experiment on the American people.
The long-term effects on the brain still are not fully understood.
Regardless, Zuckerberg and other CEOs will not be given the benefit of the doubt regarding their products and any new ventures.
As such, Zuckerberg’s “Metaverse” sounds like something straight out of a dystopian sci-fi story.
