For years Big Tech has gotten away with a number of unfair business practices.

These days are numbered though, with a number of investigations and bills swirling around Washington designed to reign in the power of Big Tech.

But Joe Biden is lost and confused after this Big Tech company does the unthinkable.

Big Tech is about to get a major wakeup call

Many large Big Tech companies such as Facebook, Amazon, and Google hold an enormous amount of power in today’s society.

Many would argue they hold too much power, including the Department of Justice which is investigating Google and other companies for anti-trust violations.

But, according to the Department of Justice, Google in particular is not exactly playing along with these investigations.

Per the Department of Justice, Google “systematically destroyed an entire category of written communications every 24 hours” in the midst of the investigation.

The DoJ added “The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure required Google to suspend its auto-delete practices in mid-2019, when the company reasonably anticipated this litigation. Google did not. Instead, as described above, Google abdicated its burden to individual custodians to preserve potentially relevant chats.

The DoJ closed by saying “Few, if any, document custodians did so. That is, few custodians, if any, manually changed, on a chat-by-chat basis, the history default from off to on.”

If true, these allegations could be very damning for Google and could result in significant penalties.

In response to these claims from the Department of Justice, a spokesman for Google told CNBC that “Our teams have conscientiously worked for years to respond to inquiries and litigation. In fact, we have produced over 4 million documents in this case alone, and millions more to regulators around the world,”

Some Big Tech companies could see major changes in the near future

These allegations from the Department of Justice are a significant finding in their anti-trust case against google and other companies.

In recent months, Big Tech has faced tremendous turmoil including massive revenue losses, leading to massive layoffs.

To make matters worse for Big Tech, House Republicans are opening a number of investigations into the role that some Big Tech companies played in censoring conservatives on their platform.

According to the Twitter Files, a number of Silicon Valley companies directly coordinated with the federal government to purge articles that may have been damaging to Joe Biden.

These are difficult times for Big Tech, but there are lessons to be learned from these tribulations.

Tech companies ought to avoid playing such a direct role in politics if they hope to stay away from political investigations.
