America just threw the greatest birthday party in its 250-year history.
Then a freshman House Democrat went on MSNBC and announced she was coming after it.
What she told the host she plans to investigate America 250 for has Christians across the country furious.
Grijalva Calls America's 250th Birthday Celebration Incredibly Problematic
Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ) went on MS NOW's The Beat and threatened to launch a congressional witch hunt against America's own 250th birthday celebration.
Her complaint?
Too much Christianity.
Grijalva told guest host Luke Russert that the Trump administration's Freedom 250 events were "incredibly problematic" because speakers mentioned religion.
She said: "We do not have an official religion in this country, nor do I believe should we."
Then Russert handed her the rope.
"Trend lines are looking good for the Democrats to take back the House," he said. "Do you think this would be something that would be investigated if Democrats get the gavel back?"
Grijalva didn't hesitate.
"Oh, I believe it will be, yeah."
That's a sitting United States congresswoman promising to drag Trump's Freedom 250 team before investigators – because they prayed at a birthday party for America.
What Freedom 250 Actually Delivered on July 4th
While Grijalva was plotting investigations, hundreds of thousands of Americans flooded the Washington Monument grounds on July 4th.
Freedom 250 launched 850,000 fireworks shells from ten sites across Washington – the largest display in American history.
The program featured military flyovers, the Joint Armed Forces Orchestra, and a full day of performances celebrating 250 years of American independence.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said exactly what Grijalva apparently can't stomach: "For 250 years, America has been the greatest nation on Earth – and with God's grace, it will be for 250 more."
That's the statement Grijalva's future investigators would be scrutinizing.

Democrats Want to Erase One Nation Under God From America's History
Grijalva and her allies in the media won't mention any of this.
The Declaration of Independence – the document America just celebrated – states that Americans are "endowed by their Creator" with unalienable rights.
Abraham Lincoln called this nation "one nation, under God" at Gettysburg.
Congress voted in 2013 to retain "In God We Trust" as the official motto of the United States – and only nine members voted against it.
America's presidents have taken their oath on the Holy Bible since George Washington.
Grijalva isn't defending the Constitution. She's pretending that 250 years of American history didn't happen.
The Left loves invoking the First Amendment's Establishment Clause while ignoring the Free Exercise Clause standing right beside it.
No one at Freedom 250 forced Americans to attend a prayer service. They organized one – and Americans came by the hundreds of thousands.
That's not a constitutional violation. That's the First Amendment working exactly as the founders intended.
The Real Target Is You
Grijalva isn't actually bothered by a prayer event on the National Mall.
She's bothered that tens of millions of Christian Americans still believe their faith built this country – and that a president finally agreed with them.
Trump issued an executive order targeting anti-Christian bias in government and protected the tax-exempt status of pastors who speak on political issues. He showed up at the Rededicate 250 prayer event and said flat out that America's destiny is written by God.
Grijalva's investigation wouldn't be about Freedom 250's finances or event planning.
It would be a message to every Christian voter in this country: your faith is a problem.
Democrats couldn't stomach a birthday party for America that said "One Nation Under God." Imagine what they'll do with the gavel.
Marco Rubio got it right. Trump got it right. The hundreds of thousands on the Mall got it right.
And Grijalva just told America exactly what Democrats will do the moment voters hand them power again.
