The media and the deep state are working overtime to defend the Biden Crime Family.
It’s been happening ever since 2020 when Joe Biden was the Democrats’ best shot at defeating Donald Trump.
And one disgraced former Obama official told an unbelievable lie about Hunter Biden’s laptop.
It’s astonishing that former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper is not in prison, let alone being interviewed on MSNBC and other outlets as an authoritative source.
Clapper lied before Congress about NSA surveillance on American citizens and was caught red-handed, yet legacy institutions like The Washington Post still pretend as though he has any credibility.
Clapper was one of the 50 former senior intelligence officials that signed onto a letter stating that the Hunter Biden “laptop from hell” was Russian disinformation, but now he’s attempting to weasel out of it now that the laptop story was proven to be true.
Intel chief says it was media who wasn’t being honest
Clapper is accusing POLITICO of mischaracterizing the letter that he signed.
He told the Washington Post, “There was message distortion…All we were doing was raising a yellow flag that this could be Russian disinformation. Politico deliberately distorted what we said. It was clear in paragraph five.”
It wasn’t just POLITICO that “distorted” the letter.
During a presidential debate, Joe Biden said, “Look, there are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plan. They have said that this has all the characteristics — four, five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage. Nobody believes it except him and his good friend Rudy Giuliani.”
The intent of the letter was clear.
It was to frame the laptop story as Russian disinformation, and the signatories used weasel words to give themselves some legal wiggle room.
Thomas Finger, a former top official in the State Department, said, “No one who has spent time in Washington should be surprised that journalists and politicians willfully or unintentionally misconstrue oral or written statements…The statement we signed was carefully written to minimize the likelihood that what was said would be misconstrued, and to provide a clear written record that could be used to identify and disprove distortions.”
Finger said it best when he described the letter as “carefully written.”
They gave themselves a legal escape hatch because they knew the truth and how they wanted things perceived.
The FBI had the laptop for a year and knew it was genuine.
If these distinguished senior intelligence community officials were so plugged in, they would’ve known that the story is true.
But they evidently wanted to help Biden win, so they heavily implied that the laptop was Russian disinformation without explicitly saying it.
It’s hard to believe they didn’t know exactly what they were doing, but now Clapper and the others are playing coy.
