Fani Willis spent years trying to put Donald Trump in prison for challenging election results.
Now the woman who weaponized election law against Donald Trump is crying that election law was used against her.
Someone just enrolled her in Donald Trump's party, and she wants the person arrested.
The DA Who Cried Election Fraud
Someone registered Fani Willis as a Republican voter in New York City – with her address listed as Trump Tower.
Willis confirmed it herself in a recent interview, saying it was "quite upsetting" to learn her name appeared on a New York registration listing her as a Republican living at Trump Tower "of all places."
She called it a "serious matter."
The New York City Board of Elections sent Willis a letter confirming the registration existed – and that no one had ever tried to vote under her name.
Willis, undeterred, is now working with a New York prosecutor on a potential criminal investigation into whoever pulled the prank – the same woman who spent years trying to crack down on election integrity efforts..
How a Weaponized Case Collapsed Into a Punchline
In August 2023, Fani Willis indicted Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants on RICO charges stemming from their challenge to Georgia's 2020 election results.
It fell apart completely – not on the merits, but because of who Willis chose to run it.
Willis appointed her secret boyfriend, Nathan Wade, as lead special prosecutor on the case – a man who had never tried a single felony case in his career.
Wade had been a municipal court judge and private practice attorney.
Willis funneled more than $650,000 in Fulton County taxpayer money to Wade over the course of the case.
Wade used some of that money to take Willis on cruises and vacations.
When the relationship became public, Willis testified under oath about it – a performance that became a national spectacle.
Defense attorneys moved to disqualify her.
In December 2024, the Georgia Court of Appeals ruled that Willis and her entire office had to go – citing the appearance of impropriety created by her romantic relationship with her own hand-picked prosecutor.
Willis appealed.
The Georgia Supreme Court declined to reinstate her in September 2025.
Then, in November 2025, the replacement prosecutor reviewed the case and dropped it entirely.
Willis's "political persecution of President Trump," as Trump's lead Georgia defense attorney Steve Sadow put it, was officially over – charges that had threatened decades in prison for Trump and his co-defendants, thrown out entirely.
New York Said There Was No Voter Fraud. Someone Just Registered the DA at Trump Tower.
Someone typed Fani Willis's name on a voter registration form, listed Trump Tower as her address, checked the Republican box, and mailed it in. It went through.
In New York, you can register to vote by mail – and if you don't have a New York state ID, you can still download the paper form, fill it in with any name and address you choose, and mail it to the Board of Elections.
Nobody verified anything – not with Willis, not with Trump Tower.
The only reason she found out is because she is Fani Willis – famous enough that a registration in her name at the most recognizable address in Manhattan set off an alarm.
José Diaz in Queens has no such luck.
Someone registers him at a fake address across the borough. Nobody calls to verify it. He shows up on Election Day and learns he is no longer registered where he lives.
He never finds out why.
New York Democrats spent decades defending this system in court – fighting every voter ID requirement, every signature verification law, every attempt to confirm that the person filing the form is the person whose name is on it.
They called those safeguards "voter suppression," insisted there was no evidence of widespread voter fraud, and said the system worked.
Then someone registered the DA who prosecuted Donald Trump as a Republican living in his building – and the only reason it made news is because the address was funny.
Every anonymous José Diaz this happens to never makes the news at all.
