The FBI's raid on Mar-a-Lago was supposed to be the end of the story.
Jack Smith's witch hunt expanded well beyond Trump.
One of those targets just broke her silence.
Jack Smith Sent FBI Agents to Trump Attorney Alina Habba's Home
Alina Habba confirmed the home visit during a recent appearance on The Benny Show, while discussing House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan's criminal referral of former Special Counsel Jack Smith to the Justice Department for perjury.
"Jack Smith sent the FBI to my house," she told host Benny Johnson. "The FBI came knocking on my door in New Jersey. I mean, people don't know that. But yeah, I was subpoenaed as a lawyer. It's crazy."
She said she avoided discussing it publicly because she didn't want the attention.
"But now I'm so far gone, and we've won," Habba said. "That's literally how desperate this person was."
Habba wasn't Smith's only legal target in Trump's orbit.
In February 2023, Trump attorney Evan Corcoran was hauled before Smith's Washington grand jury – and then a federal judge, under Smith's pressure, pierced attorney-client privilege using the crime-fraud exception, forcing Corcoran to answer questions he had every right to refuse.
Christina Bobb was subpoenaed next.
Then Habba – the third Trump lawyer brought in.
Forcing a president's attorney to testify against his own client is not standard prosecutorial practice – it requires a judge to rule that the attorney may have helped commit a crime.

Operation Arctic Frost Targeted 430 Republicans With 197 Subpoenas
The FBI's broader investigation ran under a codename: Arctic Frost.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley released 197 subpoenas Smith's team issued across that operation – collectively targeting 430 named Republican individuals and entities.
The subpoenas reached inside Fox News, Newsmax, and Sinclair, pulled financial and donor records from Republican organizations, and demanded communications with Trump White House advisers including Stephen Miller, Jared Kushner, and Lara Trump.
Smith's team also secretly obtained phone toll records belonging to sitting U.S. senators and House members – Jim Jordan, Kevin McCarthy, Josh Hawley, Marsha Blackburn, and others – then obtained gag orders to make sure those members never found out they were being watched.
Merrick Garland, then-Deputy AG Lisa Monaco, and then-FBI Director Christopher Wray personally signed off on opening Arctic Frost – a fact Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed under questioning at his Senate confirmation hearing.
Grassley also pressed Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile over why they handed over congressional phone records without notifying their customers – and why Verizon failed to disclose one of Smith's subpoenas during an earlier congressional records search.
Jim Jordan Refers Jack Smith to DOJ for Perjury
Jordan's criminal referral accuses Smith of making false statements during his December 2025 deposition – specifically about whether his team accessed the content of text messages belonging to members of Congress.
Smith told the committee they hadn't.
Grassley and Sen. Ron Johnson then released records showing Smith's investigators read texts from 44 current and former members of Congress – and routed around the internal review process designed to protect privileged material before prosecutors could see it.
Smith later admitted under oath that the judges who issued the nondisclosure orders had not been told the phone records belonged to sitting members of Congress.
Smith's attorneys responded to Jordan's referral by calling it "meritless" – arguing in a letter to Jordan and Blanche that Trump ordered the prosecution of Smith and that the referral was political retaliation.
Blanche told the Senate Judiciary Committee at his confirmation hearing that the Justice Department takes congressional testimony seriously and would examine the matter.
Jack Smith Spied on Congress and Lied About It
Habba's home visit wasn't a one-off.
Smith sent FBI agents to a sitting president's private attorney's home in New Jersey with a subpoena, pierced attorney-client privilege to extract testimony from Evan Corcoran, and secretly vacuumed up phone records from 20 percent of Senate Republicans.
Then his team read the private text messages of 44 members of Congress – and lied to Congress about it.
Grassley called Arctic Frost "a runaway train" of abuses.
What Smith ran was the most aggressive political surveillance operation deployed against an opposition party in modern American history – signed off on at the highest levels of the Biden administration and buried until now.
Habba said they won.
She's right – and the reckoning for Jack Smith is just getting started.
