Anthony Fauci Private COVID Diary Surfaced and Revealed What He Was Really Thinking

Anthony Fauci recorded the latest COVID death toll in his private diary – then kept writing.

Six years later, Rand Paul got his hands on every page.

What Fauci wrote next is why he is sitting before a Senate committee this Wednesday.

Fauci COVID Diary Entries Show the Fame Count He Kept While the Death Count Climbed

It was May 21, 2020 and nearly 98,000 people had died from COVID worldwide.

Dr. Anthony Fauci was thinking about how he was becoming a celebrity.

"The situation with my national and international fame is explosive and really unimaginable," he wrote.

"It is not hyperbole to say that today I am the most famous and talked about person in the country," he continued, adding that he considered himself one of the most recognizable people on earth.

Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rand Paul released Fauci's personal diary entries this week – covering December 2019 through December 2022 – as part of the committee's ongoing oversight investigation.

What the entries reveal is a man far more consumed by himself than by the pandemic killing his countrymen.

By April 7, 2020, Fauci was already cataloguing his press hits: "Press still hot and heavy about me. Multiple stories per day directly or indirectly involving me."

The entries logged grandmothers with crushes on him, a petition for "Sexiest Man Alive," SNL spoofs, bobbleheads, and beers named in his honor.

He noted that Secret Service agents waved him through White House gates without checking his badge, stopping only to chat.

"Everyone is worried about my health and welfare," Fauci wrote, "probably because it is all over the place that I am almost 80 years old."

He was thrilled to be invited on Dancing with the Stars.

Fauci Called Contact Tracing a Disaster in Private While Demanding More TV Time

The vanity was the least of it.

A month later, he sat down with Dr. Deborah Birx and told her what he actually thought of the contact tracing and isolation strategy millions of Americans were locked inside: a "f*cking disaster and an abject failure."

He wrote that admission in the same journal entry where he logged the Dancing with the Stars invitation.

On June 29, 2020, Fauci met with Vice President Mike Pence and pushed hard to get back in front of national television cameras.

"I told him that I am being blocked from TV and I needed to get on TV to give the 'risk reduction' message," Fauci wrote.

He noted that Pence "truly likes me a lot (and vice versa)" and promised to get him back on air.

The Fauci Emails He Ordered Deleted and Then Denied Under Oath

The diaries are not the only documents Paul dropped ahead of Wednesday's hearing.

Released emails show Fauci instructed NIH Director Francis Collins to "please delete this e-mail after you read it."

A separate July 2020 message directed his own Chief of Staff to delete a note – one in which Fauci had dismissed Paul's COVID questioning with an obscenity.

In June 2024 testimony before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, Fauci said under oath that he had never deleted federal records.

"These documents suggest your direct involvement in efforts to conceal information related to the Committee's investigation and appear to contradict your previous testimony before Congress," Paul wrote in a formal committee letter to Fauci.

Biden's preemptive pardon – signed by autopen in January 2025 without Biden's direct authorization – covers ten years of potential crimes without naming a single one.

The statute of limitations on his 2021 gain-of-function testimony has already expired.

Paul has called the pardon "unconstitutionally vague" and called for its legitimacy to be challenged in court.

On Wednesday, Anthony Fauci will sit before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee – under subpoena, in public, on the record.

The man who documented his own fame while Americans died will answer to Rand Paul.

Rand Paul spent six years being told to drop it.

He didn't.
