Democrats are already drawing up their target list for the day they win the House in November.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went on television and laid out the opening move.

Speaking at the Faith and Freedom Coalition's annual summit, House Speaker Mike Johnson didn't mince words.
"If we were to lose the midterms, heaven forbid, these Democrats — y'all, impeachment's not even the big concern," Johnson told the crowd.
"They will turn every committee of Congress into an investigative body, and they'll go after the president's family, the Cabinet, his donors, friends, half of you in this room will be targeted."
Then he said it straight: "I run the protection program. We'll take care of you."
Democrats lost their minds.
Left-wing media called him a mob boss.
AOC went on MSNOW with Jen Psaki to deliver her response.
"If you don't want to be prosecuted for crimes, don't do crimes," she said.
Democrats are drawing up their plans for investigations if they take control of Congress.

AOC already ran this play once and it nearly destroyed Trump's business empire.
When Democrats won the House in the 2018 midterms, they didn't wait a day.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler opened a sweeping probe in the first weeks of the new majority, blasting document demands to 81 targets – individuals, companies, and federal agencies all at once.
AOC herself joined the oversight committee and helped drive the Michael Cohen investigation – something she bragged about as a blueprint for what comes next.
That probe fed the Letitia James sham civil fraud case that resulted in a $354 million judgment against Trump's businesses – a ruling so punishing that even after a successful appeal it left a three-year ban on Trump doing business in New York.
Johnson isn't speculating. He's reading the history.

The socialist congresswoman from New York – fresh off an easy primary win over a retired Wall Street banker – didn't try to deny what Johnson described.
She embraced it.
"There are certain committees that I think will be spearheading real investigations into this administration," she said. "There has to be accountability."
Then she called Johnson's Republican majority a "protection racket" designed to shield "a class of impunity in America."
AOC is describing a future Democrat majority that arrives in January with target lists, gavel-banging committee chairs, and subpoenas for Trump's donors, Cabinet members, and family.
The midterms are four months away and Democrats believe they can win the House.
AOC has already endorsed candidates across the country, the socialist wing is organizing, and every prominent Democrat voice is saying the same thing about day one priorities – not legislation, not the border, not inflation.
The answer from every one of them is the same: investigations.

It was a mission statement.
Republicans losing in November means subpoenas get issued and another Democrat committee vote to drag Trump allies before cameras.
AOC has already left the door open to a presidential run. Ro Khanna is building a national profile by endorsing 30-plus candidates this cycle. At least a dozen Democrats in Congress could run for President in 2028.
Every ambitious socialist Democrat with White House dreams wants video clips of them grilling a Trump Cabinet member under oath.
These hearings won't be oversight. They'll be auditions.
Democrat committee chairs will turn C-SPAN into a campaign trail, using Trump's allies as props while the cameras fund their next race. Subpoenas become press releases. Hearings become donor emails.
Johnson has been explicit: the only thing standing between the Trump agenda and two years of televised witch hunts is Republican voters showing up in November.
AOC just made his case for him.
