Donald Trump remains the target of endless political witch hunts.

The Democrats are currently engaged in the most embarrassing one yet.

And Trump’s impeachment lawyer had two strong words for the Judge in Alvin Bragg’s hush money trial.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is moving full speed ahead with his outlandish prosecution of Donald Trump for a hush money payoff to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Bragg needed some kind of court case to get Trump because he made it a campaign promise to prosecute him.

Bragg knew he could bring such a weak case because 80% of the district voted for Joe Biden in 2020.

One fortuitous break that Bragg got was a Judge who hates Trump as much as the partisan Democrats in the jury pool.

Anti-Trump Judge

Judge Juan Merchan openly hates Trump, and his daughter even works for a left-wing organization that is fundraising off of the prosecution.

And Legal Analyst Jonathan Turley said that Judge Merchan “lost control” of the courtroom during Daniels’s testimony.

Turley said in an interview, “The problem with what the judge has done here is that this is an entirely unnecessary witness. It is uncontested that there is a NDA. Whether what happened in their relationship, if there was one, is immaterial to how those payments were denoted by the Trump campaign.”

Bragg wanted Daniels inserted into the trial for the salacious headlines, and Judge Merchan allowed it.

Turley continued, “So the court had the opportunity, repeatedly to say, we’re not going to take this courtroom through details of this relationship. If you want to establish a relationship occurred, do so, establish the dates. But likely those facts could’ve been stipulated.”

Democrats understand they are building a narrative, so they want the Trump story to be as dirty as possible.

“Lost control”

Turley added, “So the prosecutors wanted to get salacious details out and this is a form of punishment. . .They’re trying to use a witness for punitive purposes, and in my view, political purposes, and this is what happens, and it happened because the judge lost control of his courtroom.”

Judge Merchan also placed a gag order on Trump, which bars him from defending himself against spurious accusations.

However, other people involved are allowed to talk about the case publicly.

Turley also stated, “It will be hard to correct that. . .The judge can try to correct some of this in his instructions, but at this point it would be very hard to do it. For example, the judge has allowed this jury to hear over and over again that there were election violations at the base of this case suggesting that Trump committed election violations. There is no evidence of that. There is no evidence of a crime.”

And there’s the rub.

Bragg charged the misdemeanor of falsifying business records and elevated it to a felony by claiming that Trump was hiding an underlying crime.

But Bragg has not specified the crime because he knows his case is on thin ice.

The New York statute of limitations long expired on campaign finance violations, so Bragg is trying to use the federal statute for a state crime.

But Trump was not charged with a federal campaign finance violation.

The case is absurd, and Bragg and Merchan know it.

They’re moving forward anyway.
