Antifa burned American cities for two summers and not one state called them terrorists.
Ron DeSantis just changed that and made it a felony for anyone to fund them in Florida.
What DeSantis attached to that designation goes further than any state has done before.
CAIR Antifa and the Muslim Brotherhood Officially Designated as Domestic Terrorist Organizations
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his cabinet voted to designate the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Antifa as domestic terrorist organizations under state law.
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier spelled out what that means: "Supporting these groups is a felony; your tax dollars will not fund them, no contracts, no foothold on our campuses, students who promote them are expelled."
Write a check to CAIR in Florida and you are committing a felony.
College students caught promoting them on campus are expelled.
The designation came under HB 1471, a law DeSantis signed in April that empowers the state's chief of domestic security to label organizations as terrorist groups and strips every designated group of taxpayer funding, government contracts, and university access.
The cabinet also placed more than 90 groups already designated by the federal government as foreign terrorist organizations on the list – including al-Qaeda, the Houthis, Cartel de Sinaloa, Tren de Aragua, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran.
DeSantis explained why CAIR made the list: "CAIR was an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terror financing trial in American history. And so there's a lot of financial arteries that go into these movements, and we want to make sure we're doing everything we can in Florida to put the kibosh on that."

What the FBI Testified About CAIR and Hamas Under Oath
Here is what the mainstream media buried.
FBI Special Agent Lara Burns spent more than two decades as a federal agent and served as lead investigator on the Holy Land Foundation case – the largest terrorism financing prosecution in American history.
She testified under oath that CAIR is a front group for Hamas – not as a political attack, not as an opinion, but as sworn testimony from the woman who built the case.
CAIR's co-founders – Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad – were leading members of the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee, the very committee whose mandate was to support Hamas inside the United States.
Nihad Awad, who still runs CAIR today as its national executive director, attended the 1993 Philadelphia meeting that laid the groundwork for establishing the Holy Land Foundation.
The DOJ confirmed CAIR's unindicted co-conspirator status in that trial and the FBI severed formal contacts with the organization, stating it could not treat CAIR as a legitimate partner until its connection to Hamas was resolved.
That connection was never resolved and CAIR has operated in American politics, on American campuses, and inside American government buildings ever since.
DeSantis is acting on what the FBI already proved in federal court.
A federal judge blocked his December 2025 executive order on First Amendment grounds, so DeSantis spent six months getting the legislature to hand him a framework no judge can dismiss in a motion.
The cabinet vote took 30 seconds.
Florida Cuts Taxpayer Funding and Bans CAIR from Every State Campus
Texas designated CAIR a terrorist organization in November 2025 under Governor Greg Abbott.
The state comptroller used that designation to block voucher funding to Islamic schools that had hosted CAIR events.
The White House designated Antifa a domestic terrorist organization in September 2025 – calling it "a militarist, anarchist enterprise that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States Government."
Florida just put criminal penalties behind every one of those designations.
CAIR is already in court and the ACLU has an emergency motion ready to block the designation.
DeSantis called it last April: "They'll sue us, like they do on everything, and we'll win on appeal."
This time he built the law before the lawsuit.
Every Republican governor in America is watching Tallahassee right now.
Any governor who wants to stop writing checks to groups that burn cities and fund Hamas now has a blueprint sitting in Florida.
DeSantis did not just cut the arteries in Florida.
He showed every governor in the country exactly where to make the cut.
