For decades, parroting the global elites’ favored political narratives has gone hand in glove with success in Hollywood.
But dead things float with the current; only the truly living can swim against the current.
And now Goldie Hawn’s longtime beau Kurt Russell is going viral for torching a top Biden priority.
What do Tim Allen, Chris Pratt, Dave Chappelle, and Gina Carano all have in common?
They’re all entertainment stars who have been the targets of the cancel culture mob for failing to comply with the radical Left’s mandatory worldview.
Add Kurt Russell to the list.
A clip of Russell dropping the mic on a top priority of Joe Biden and the Democrats went viral after resurfacing this week.
Russell may now be best known as the longtime beau of iconic beauty Goldie Hawn, with whom he sired a half-brother for actress Kate Hudson – Hudson is one of two children from Hawn’s previous marriage.
But of course, Russell is a bona fide movie star in his own right.
Life imitating art
Unless you’re most familiar with Kurt Russell from his role as Santa Claus in The Christmas Chronicles, the actor’s stance on gun rights shouldn’t come as a big surprise.
Some of Russell’s most iconic roles, including Wyatt Earp in Tombstone, Jack Burton in Big Trouble in Little China, and Snake Plissken in Escape From New York – among many others – all involve heavy firearms use.
In fact, if you look up Russell’s filmography, you’ll notice he’s holding a gun in the posters for many of his movies.
However, just because an actor plays a part doesn’t necessarily mean he lives it.
But in Russell’s case, he takes his right to keep and bear arms very seriously.
And one writer just found that out the hard way.
Resurfaced video is now going viral
According to reports, Kurt Russell considers himself a libertarian.
As such, he stands in direct opposition to the gun-grabbing ways of most of the Hollywood elites.
And now, a forgotten interview from nearly a decade ago has resurfaced and is going viral.
In the recording, Russell is being interviewed by Jeffrey Wells for his Hollywood Elsewhere blog.
The interview was part of Russell’s promotional tour for Quinten Tarantino’s Hateful Eight.
The blog was known for being woke before woke had a name – especially on gun rights issues.
Kurt Russell tries to explain the Second Amendment to a woke blogger
“I don’t understand the concept of the conversation of the ‘gun culture,’” Russell said. “We’ve lived with guns – what, since the 7th century or something?”
Wells then tried to push Russell into a corner by making the Second Amendment a race issue.
“We all know right now that guns is a trope … it’s a totem, it’s a metaphor that disenfranchised white guys need,” the blogger claimed. “It makes them feel good.”
“You can say what you want — I don’t agree with that, it’s not my thing,” Russell started his reply. “If you think gun control is going to change the terrorists’ point of view, I think you’re, like, out of your mind. I think it’s absolutely insane.”
Russell then used an interesting analogy to explain how a society with prevalent gun ownership makes everyone safer, because criminals don’t know who is protected and who is not.
“If I’m a hockey team and I’ve got some guy bearing down on me as a goaltender, I’m not concerned about what he’s gonna do,” Russell said. “I’m gonna make him concerned about what I’m gonna do.”
Wells tried to make it a matter of security, suggesting Democrat gun control efforts would keep weapons out of the hands of terrorists.
And that’s when Russell lost his patience.
“Do you really believe they’re not going to? Are you serious about that? What good will that – ? Oh my g–. You and I just disagree,” Russell concluded. “You and I just disagree. I understand that you think you can control the behavior of people that are dead set on taking your way of life away from you. I think you think you can control that. And there is only one thing you can do with that and that is say, ‘No dude, that ain’t gonna happen. That’s just not gonna happen.’”
In a mic drop moment, Russell then excused himself from the interview.
The transcript doesn’t do Russell’s truth bomb justice – making the video a must-watch.
The short version of Kurt Russell on gun control is basically “you’ll take it from my cold, dead hands buddy”.
He was on 🔥 with this woke writer.
Didn’t know he was this cool but it makes sense since Tombstone is the best western film in human history. pic.twitter.com/Z0siGcGg7z
