J.D. Vance reveals the real threat to the country from Kamala Harris
U.S. Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) squared off with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz at the CBS News Vice Presidential debate.
Vance by most of the media’s own admission walked away from the debate as the victor.
He didn’t fall into the traps and gotcha questions set by the moderators that were designed to trip him up.
CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell tried to walk Vance into a trap about certifying the results of an election as Vice President.
Democrats and their media allies have been pushing a false narrative that former President Donald Trump and Vance are threats to democracy.
But Vance turned the question on its head and focused on what he called the real threat to democracy in the country.
I believe we actually do have a threat to democracy in this country,” Vance said. “Unfortunately, it’s not the threat to democracy that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz want to talk about. It is the threat of censorship.”
The Supreme Court case Murthy v. Missouri brought by Missouri and Louisiana revealed that the Biden White House was directing social media companies to censor content they didn’t like.
“It’s Kamala Harris saying that rather than debating and persuading fellow Americans, she would like to censor people who engage in misinformation,” Vance continued. “That’s a bigger threat to democracy than anything we’ve seen in the last four years or 40 years.”
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz want to snuff out the First Amendment
Vance noted that former Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. were backing Trump because of his commitment to free speech.
“We are united behind a basic American First Amendment principle, which allows us to debate our differences fairly, argue about them, and persuade our fellow Americans,” Vance explained. “Harris is engaged in censorship on an industrial scale. She has done it over a number of issues. That’s a bigger threat to democracy than what Donald Trump said when he said protesters should peacefully protest on January 6.”
The Biden-Harris administration has been engaged in trying to censor their critics online through multiple government agencies.
Kamala boasted in a 2019 Democrat Presidential Primary debate that Trump’s access to social media should be pulled.
And she told the NAACP in an address that year that she wanted to sic the Justice Department on social media companies that didn’t police misinformation on their platforms.
“We’ll put the Department of Justice of the United States back in the business of justice,” Kamala ranted. “We will double the Civil Rights Division and direct law enforcement to counter this extremism. We will hold social media platforms accountable for the hate infiltrating their platforms because they have a responsibility to help fight against this threat to our democracy.”
Tim Walz falsely claimed that the First Amendment didn’t protect against speech he didn’t like.
“There’s no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech, and especially around our democracy,” Walz told MSNBC in 2022.
Hate speech and misinformation are protected by the First Amendment.
Walz wants to use that as a flimsy justification to silence speech.
Kamala Harris is ready to take a sledgehammer to the First Amendment if she gets in the White House.
