The Left’s love of getting back at those they disagree with helped them dominate culture by cowing conservatives in the entertainment industry into silence.
But the days of conservative entertainers keeping their heads down and mouths shut are over.
And woke record execs are fuming about what this music icon just did with Ron DeSantis.
Celebrities are starting to come out of the woodwork breaking free of the Left’s hold on them.
The latest are members of one of the biggest bands in music history and they are teaming up with Ron DeSantis.
One might say they’re free birds now to support a based politician.
Former Lynyrd Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zant and his brother David Van Zant – who make up the band Van Sant.
It’s no longer Sweet Home Alabama, but Sweet Florida as they sing about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
“The press don’t like him but he sure does get my business
He stands up for what he believes
So don’t come down here trying to change things
We’re doing alright in the Sunshine State
Stay out of our business – leave our Gov alone
Down in Sweet Florida
Our Governor is Red White and Blue
Down in Sweet Florida
He’s shootin’ us straight – tellin’ us the truth
Yeah that’s right!
You can take it to the bank he don’t care what Brandon thinks at the White House
Yeah he’s fighting for the right to keep our state free
Well he’s taking on the swamp and he’s calling out Dr. Fauci
He’s the only one fightin’ for you and me
Yeah we’re free
. . .
Well we ain’t been locked down – we still have our freedom
We can still see our friends and family
Our kids are in school and we can go to church on Sunday
And it’s all because DeSantis knows how to lead
Yeah we’re free!
. . .
Well he’s kicking it up – standing up down in Florida
He’s a military man with the courage to withstand them all
Yeah we’re free in Florida
Yeah we’re free in Florida
Our Governor – He’s Red White and Blue”
DeSantis got to hear the song in person for the first time.
The Van Zants even had the Governor sign a guitar for them – so who is the real rock star now?
And you’d imagine DeSantis now doesn’t have to worry about getting a musician to sign off on his entrance music at campaign stops.
Is this the prelude to a rock star presidential campaign in 2024?
Only time will tell.
