Democrats spent two decades flooding Lewiston, Maine with Somali refugees and calling anyone who objected a bigot.
A Somali interpreter walked up to a Republican candidate inside the polling place and asked if she was a Democrat.
What he told her he would do next is now the subject of a federal investigation.
Ballot Harvesting Operation Caught on Camera at Lewiston City Hall
Lewiston, Maine has one of the largest Somali populations in New England – the result of two decades of federally funded refugee resettlement that Democrats championed and Republicans were told to accept quietly.
By the time early voting opened at Lewiston City Hall on October 13, the operation inside that building looked nothing like a normal polling place.
Maine Wire reporter Steve Robinson documented organized groups of interpreters affiliated with local Somali activist organizations running a voter escort operation – among them Hodan Hassan of the Somali Action Alliance, photographed handing out political literature inside City Hall, within the 250-foot perimeter where Maine law prohibits electioneering.
Buses pulled up from Somali housing complexes and unloaded voters at the door.
Security cameras captured more than 200 voters of Somali background receiving assistance from that same small group of individuals during early voting.
They were handling ballots, approaching voters who never asked for help, and running the same individuals through in groups – none of which bears any resemblance to the limited, one-on-one assistance Maine law actually permits.
Republican state House candidate Janet Beaudoin walked into that operation when she arrived to vote.
An interpreter from the group approached her and asked if she was a Democrat, then told her that if she was, he would instruct the voters he was escorting to support her.
The man was brokering votes, not translating language.
Maine law forbids interpreters from approaching voters unsolicited, influencing their choices, or touching the ballot.
One Somali woman chatted with the election warden in fluent English, then called over a translator the moment she stepped up to vote.
Maine Attorney General Andrew Benson confirmed his office is examining the Lewiston surveillance recordings for voter intimidation and election interference. The Maine Wire obtained the footage under Maine's Freedom of Access Act – more than 140 hours of security camera video covering early voting from October 13 forward.
Lewiston officials scrambled to print guidance explaining the voter assistance rules after the footage went public – rules they had to explain to people who had been showing up at that polling place for weeks.

Susan Collins Demands Answers as DOJ Launches Formal Election Integrity Probe
Sen. Susan Collins said she was troubled by what the cameras captured.
"Certainly only Americans should be voting in American elections," Collins said. "It is troubling to me if people are being accompanied into voting booths and handling ballots in a way that is not sanctioned by law."
One interpreter was already removed from Lewiston City Hall after approaching a voter who never asked for his help – a direct violation of Maine Title 21-A, Section 672.
The DOJ has dispatched federal election monitors to Lewiston, Portland, and South Portland ahead of the November 3 elections.
The Maine Wire estimates roughly 1,300 registered voters of Somali background in Lewiston and 4,000 statewide – a small pool in a state where Collins is locked in a dead-heat Senate race against Democrat Troy Jackson, close enough that a few hundred votes could decide it.
Maine is not an isolated case. In September, the DOJ indicted Somali community organizers in Minnesota for illegal voting across multiple election cycles, a method the Trump administration has been tracking across multiple states for months.
Democrats brought Somali refugees to Lewiston, built their housing complexes, and funded their organizations – and now those organizations are standing inside American voting booths directing ballots.
A Democrat-built machine has been operating inside American polling places for weeks, funded by American taxpayers and pointed at a U.S. Senate race.
The Maine Wire filmed the operation, the DOJ is investigating it, and federal monitors will be on the ground tomorrow.
If nobody stops it before the polls close on November 3, Susan Collins loses her Senate seat to a scheme Democrats spent two decades designing.
