Florida Governor Ron DeSantis just unleashed a blistering attack on his own party.

The Republican firebrand didn’t hold back in his assessment of Congressional Republicans.

And Ron DeSantis dropped this bombshell about Elon Musk’s DOGE that has Republicans furious.

DeSantis says “the swamp has won” against DOGE’s efforts

President Donald Trump created the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to bring transparency and fiscal responsibility to federal spending.

Led by tech billionaire Elon Musk, DOGE identified billions in wasteful government spending and made recommendations to Congress on how to eliminate it.

But Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said DOGE’s recommendations have been completely ignored by Republicans in Congress.

“Elon Musk went into this DOGE effort. He was getting lampooned. I mean, like, they’re firebombing his Tesla dealerships, media smearing him relentlessly, his businesses suffered—all this stuff—because he basically said, ‘Look, we can’t keep doing this, and we need to moderate and reduce the amount of money that the federal government is spending,'” DeSantis said during a bill signing ceremony in Florida.

DeSantis didn’t mince words about what this revealed about Washington’s power structure.

“DOGE and Elon were on a collision course with the swamp. And the question is, what would happen? And I don’t think there’s any question that DOGE fought the swamp—and so far, the swamp has won,” DeSantis declared.

DeSantis warns inflation is a hidden tax on Americans

The Florida Governor explained that continued deficit spending has real consequences for everyday Americans, whether Congress wants to admit it or not.

“Inflation is a tax. When your money becomes less valuable, that’s no different in outcome than if Congress were to simply just directly tax you. It’s less transparent, it’s more indirect, but it’s having the same exact impact,” DeSantis explained.

He pointed out that Republicans in Congress are failing to live up to their promises of fiscal responsibility.

“We have a Republican Congress, and to this day (we’re at the end of May, past Memorial Day) and not one cent in those cuts has been implemented by the Congress,” DeSantis said.

The former presidential candidate made these comments during a ceremony where he signed a bill making gold and silver legal tender in Florida – a move some see as positioning the state to protect its citizens from further inflation.

DeSantis calls for major structural reforms to fix Washington

DeSantis didn’t just diagnose the problem – he offered bold solutions that would fundamentally change how Washington operates.

“That’s one of the reasons why we need a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It’s another reason why we need term limits for members of Congress,” DeSantis stated.

His comments highlight the growing divide between conservatives who want genuine fiscal reform and the establishment wing of the Republican Party that continues to approve massive spending bills.

This latest bombshell from DeSantis suggests that even with Republicans controlling the House of Representatives, the bureaucratic machine in Washington remains largely untouchable.

“This is hardwired into how the people in Washington are borrowing and spending your money. But it has huge implications for the viability of our economy—our country,” DeSantis warned.

The comments come as Congress is preparing to debate another round of spending bills, with few signs that DOGE’s recommended cuts will be included.

This failure to implement any of DOGE’s cost-cutting measures despite Republican control in the House raises serious questions about whether either party is truly committed to fiscal responsibility.

For now, DeSantis seems to be suggesting that without structural reforms like term limits and a balanced budget amendment, even well-intentioned efforts like DOGE will continue to fail against entrenched Washington interests.
