Michelle Obama has been making the rounds on her book tour trying to stay relevant.
But she just crossed a line that left everyone speechless.
And Michelle Obama had one ugly meltdown about Trump for this unthinkable reason.
Michelle Obama spent November promoting her new book about fashion in the White House across three separate interviews.
But instead of focusing on her book, she kept attacking President Trump for demolishing the East Wing to build a 90,000-square-foot ballroom.
Obama recently told the Jamie Kern Lima podcast that watching the demolition left her "confused" about American values.
"It's not about me, it's about us and our traditions and what they stand for," Obama said. "I think in my body I felt confusion because I'm like, 'Well, who are we? What do we value and who decides that?'"¹
She brought it up on Stephen Colbert's show, claiming she "felt a loss for us as a nation."
And on the Today show, she joked "there's barely a staff. Now we don't have a building."²
Michelle Obama's stunning hypocrisy just got exposed
Here's what Obama conveniently forgot to mention.
She spent eight years as First Lady remodeling the White House herself.
The Obama administration oversaw a three-year refurbishment of the State Dining Room that was completed in 2015.³
Michelle personally selected new mahogany chairs, custom silk draperies, and a massive wool carpet for the room.
She also redecorated the Old Family Dining Room with new window treatments, bronze sconces, fresh paint, and a $290,000 painting.⁴
The Obamas spent approximately $1.5 million of their own money on interior decorating throughout their residence.⁵
And that doesn't even count the $376 million infrastructure modernization project that replaced decades-old heating, cooling, electrical, and fire alarm equipment throughout the East and West Wings during Obama's presidency.⁶
Obama also planted the White House Kitchen Garden and had her husband add a basketball court.
Now she lectures Americans about Trump destroying traditions by building a ballroom presidents have wanted for 150 years.
The real reason Obama won't let this go
Michelle Obama knows the ballroom isn't about destroying history.
She's upset because Trump is building something bigger and better than anything the Obamas did.
The ballroom will be the largest structural addition since the Truman Balcony in 1948, funded entirely by private donors at zero taxpayer cost.
And unlike the East Wing offices, this ballroom will serve a real purpose hosting foreign leaders.
Foreign dignitaries are currently entertained in tents on the lawn.
Trump made sure the design respects the White House architecture with colors and window shapes matching the existing building.
Democrats pulled this exact stunt before
Democrats manufactured the same fake outrage in 2020 when Melania Trump renovated the Rose Garden.
Presidential historian Michael Beschloss called it an "evisceration" that made "decades of American history disappear."⁷
The hashtag #RoseGardenMassacre trended as Democrats accused Melania of destroying Jackie Kennedy's legacy.
But the entire controversy was manufactured garbage.
The renovation was paid for by private donations.
The trees Melania removed had already been replaced three times since the 1960s.⁸
And those roses Democrats claimed were planted by every First Lady since 1913? Complete fiction.
The renovation actually fixed drainage problems and increased rose bushes from 12 dying plants to over 200.⁹
Now Trump paved the center lawn to create a hard surface for events, and Democrats are melting down again.
Trump explained wet grass caused safety issues during press conferences with women's heels sinking "four inches deep."¹⁰
The pattern couldn't be clearer.
Democrats ignored Michelle Obama's multimillion-dollar renovations and Barack Obama's $376 million infrastructure overhaul.
But when the Trumps fix a garden or build a ballroom, it's suddenly an attack on American history.
Former presidents respect the office by not constantly criticizing their successor.
But Michelle Obama is taking partisan shots at Trump three times in one month.
She lectures about American traditions and "how we live together" while breaking every norm about former First Ladies staying out of partisan politics.
The hypocrisy is breathtaking when you remember she spent millions remodeling the White House herself and never said a word about respecting traditions back then.
Michelle Obama is grasping at straws trying to find an attack to stick against Trump.
