Teachers unions have been waging war on parents since the pandemic shutdowns.
They prioritize radical activism over actually educating students.
And an LA teachers union got caught planning one scheme that will put children in danger.
Teachers unions coordinate nationwide to turn schools into anti-ICE resistance hubs
Documents obtained by Defending Education expose United Teachers Los Angeles' plan to transform schools into command centers for obstructing immigration enforcement.
Teachers unions in Chicago, San Francisco, and Oregon are also running the same anti-ICE playbook.
"Unfortunately, these documents are another reminder that the teachers unions, especially UTLA, are focused on far-left social justice activism and advancing unpopular ideologies over how to improve the academic outcomes of the students they serve," Rhyen Staley, director of research at Defending Education, stated.
But what Staley said next should terrify parents.
"But what is deeply appalling is the willingness of teachers to incentivize minors to engage in radical practices that could potentially put them in harm's way," Staley added.
UTLA's planning documents reveal full obstruction operation
UTLA wants professional development time for "door hanger immigration kits" and school funds to "buy bullhorns, whistles."
They're planning "security cameras to monitor" for ICE and encrypted Signal group chats to blast out alerts.
These same Signal networks coordinated Minneapolis street patrols that created dangerous ICE confrontations.
UTLA's "School Safety Plan" would trigger obstruction tactics if an agent wants to "interview [or] to detain a student or staff."
The union's "activation" plan mobilizes the Los Angeles Raids and Rapid Response Network to "surround the school with supporters."
Teachers would hijack Local School Leadership Councils to implement anti-ICE regimes.
Force schools into "lock down" if ICE is "on/near campus."
Recruit students into "community self-defense" through "service learning hours."
Union-speak for using minors as foot soldiers against federal law enforcement.
Chicago's version includes slides instructing kids to avoid social media because "posting can put our school community more at risk for detainment."
Teachers are training children for organized obstruction of federal officers.
Under 18 U.S.C. § 111, obstructing federal immigration officers is a federal crime carrying up to 20 years in prison.
Teachers unions fought for "sanctuary school" contract language during Trump's first term and are activating those policies now.
Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates admitted their strategy started when "members noticed severe attendance issues in spaces where immigrant families resided."
UTLA wants surveillance operations with cameras, encrypted communications, and student activists mobilized against federal agents.
Union "bargaining language" declares schools as "sanctuary spaces" immune from immigration enforcement.
Federal law doesn't work that way.
The coordination between unions proves this isn't organic.
United Teachers Los Angeles, Chicago Teachers Union, United Educators of San Francisco, Oregon Education Association – are all using similar tactics.
They're holding "Know Your Rights" trainings funded by organizations like the Los Angeles Raids and Rapid Response Network.
Tom Homan complained Minneapolis residents were "well educated" in obstructing federal agents.
That education came from teachers unions.
Teachers unions aren't hiding it.
Schools are now "forms of resistance" against the federal government.
Students get recruited into "community self-defense" against immigration enforcement.
Kids face legal jeopardy so unions can score political points.
Parents need to understand what's happening here.
Cecily Myart-Cruz, president of United Teachers Los Angeles, already told parents what UTLA really cares about.
During the pandemic when kids were locked out of schools for over a year, she told LA Magazine that learning loss wasn't a problem.
"It's OK that our babies may not have learned all their times tables. They learned resilience. They learned survival. They learned critical-thinking skills. They know the difference between a riot and a protest. They know the words insurrection and coup," Myart-Cruz said.
Read that again.
The LA teachers union president doesn't care if your kids can't do math.
What matters is they know the difference between a "riot and a protest" and understand words like "insurrection and coup."
That quote reveals everything you need to know about teachers unions.
The LA teachers union is a left-wing activist group masquerading as an organization representing educators.
