Anti-Trump comedian Jimmy Kimmel has spent years attacking conservatives and defending the Democrat Party.
But even he couldn’t ignore what’s happening to his own side anymore.
And Jimmy Kimmel admitted this awful truth about his own party that left Democrats scrambling for damage control.
Even Jimmy Kimmel can’t defend the woke scolds anymore
Late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel made a career out of bashing Donald Trump and cheerleading for Democrats.
The comedian spent the entire 2024 election season campaigning for Kamala Harris and attacking Trump supporters as extremists.
But during a recent appearance on "The Sarah Silverman Podcast," even Kimmel couldn’t defend the cancel culture mob that’s taken over his party.
Host Sarah Silverman brought up how podcast host Joe Rogan has been viciously attacked online for criticizing Trump’s second term after supporting him in the 2024 election.
She called it "ironic" that the party of "inclusivity" was being "incredibly elitist" toward anyone who dared question their approved narratives.
Kimmel found himself in the uncomfortable position of having to defend his party while admitting they have a massive problem.
"Yes. But it’s not- it’s not the party. It’s not the majority. It’s the loud voices that scare people from saying what they believe and make you think twice about a joke or whatever," Kimmel responded.¹
But then he went further and admitted what conservatives have been saying for years.
"You know, a lot of their points are valid, but a lot of them are also just repulsive, in that they repel people," Kimmel continued. "They go like, ‘Oh, you’re no fun. I don’t want to be around you.’ And I think that if you had to boil it down to one thing, that’s kind of what it is."²
Kimmel previously blamed liberal scolds for Trump’s rise
This isn’t the first time Kimmel has been forced to confront the toxic behavior of his fellow liberals.
This isn’t the first time Kimmel has been forced to confront the toxic behavior of his fellow liberals.
Back in April, Kimmel blamed humorless liberal scolds trying to cancel comedians for Trump’s rise to power.
"I think a lot of the outrage is completely manufactured, and it’s like, a lot of these people who are angry aren’t really angry. I think these liberals who’ve done such a good job of viciously attacking comedians are a big part of the reason why Trump is the president right now," he said in a Rolling Stone interview.³
The timing of Kimmel’s latest admission couldn’t be worse for Democrats.
After their crushing defeat in November, party leaders have been desperately trying to figure out why they lost working-class voters across the country.
Silverman and Kimmel’s conversation reveals exactly what’s been driving ordinary Americans away from the Democrat Party – the constant hectoring, the cancel culture, and the elitist attitude that anyone who disagrees with them is beneath contempt.
The woke mob is destroying the Democrat brand
Kimmel’s admission confirms what Republicans have been pointing out for years.
What’s driving ordinary Americans away from the Democrat Party isn’t some organic groundswell of moral outrage.
Look at the funding sources behind the loudest voices demanding apologies and cancellations. Follow the money trail from major liberal donors to the organizations pushing speech codes and ideological conformity.
The same pattern emerges every time: well-funded activist groups manufacture controversies, amplify them through social media, then pressure corporations and politicians to bend the knee.
For years, this strategy succeeded because Big Tech platforms and legacy media outlets actively participated in the campaigns.
But voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin weren’t buying what Hollywood celebrities and college professors were selling.
Working families watched comedians get destroyed for telling jokes their grandparents would have laughed at. They saw neighbors lose jobs over social media posts from a decade ago.
The Rogan situation perfectly illustrates the problem. Here’s someone who supported Trump, then started criticizing specific policies – exactly the kind of independent thinking Democrats claim to want. Instead of welcoming the criticism, the activist wing immediately went into attack mode.
They want politicians who will focus on their real problems – like inflation, crime, and border security – instead of policing pronouns and demanding apologies for thought crimes.
Trump warned about the cancel culture problem
President Donald Trump has been calling out cancel culture and woke ideology since he first ran for office in 2016.
He understood that Americans were fed up with being told what to think and how to speak by coastal elites who have no connection to their daily lives.
Trump’s victory in November proved that voters rejected the Democrat Party’s message of division, censorship, and constant grievance politics.
But it took Jimmy Kimmel – one of Trump’s most vocal critics – to finally admit what everyone else already knew.
The "repulsive" voices on the Left aren’t just embarrassing their own party – they’re actively driving voters away and handing elections to Republicans.
Now the question is whether Democrat leaders will listen to Kimmel’s warning or continue letting the woke mob run their party into the ground.
Based on their response to Trump’s overwhelming victory, it looks like they’re going to keep making the same mistakes that cost them the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives.
That’s great news for conservatives who want to keep winning elections and implementing America First policies that actually help working families.
But it’s terrible news for a Democrat Party that can’t seem to learn from their failures.
