The censorship machine is getting ready to try and tip the scales for Democrats.

But they didn’t count on one plan facing pushback.

Now James Comer is trying to shut down this nasty censorship scheme before the election.

James Comer investigating censorship tool for taxpayer funding

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is launching an investigation into whether the Biden administration is using taxpayer money to fund a censorship tool against conservatives.

He’s probing NewsGuard, a private company that claims to rate websites based on their trustworthiness.

NewsGuard claims to fight misinformation by rating websites based on biased criteria developed by the left-wing activists who run the company.

Misinformation is the buzzword the Left uses to discredit speech they don’t like that paints the target for censorship.

The ratings are used to try and get conservative websites blacklisted by advertisers to run them off the internet.

NewsGuard gave a 100/100 credibility ranking to a New York Times story calling Hunter Biden’s laptop Russian misinformation during the 2020 Election while the New York Post’s bombshell story that broke the news of its existence was called misinformation.

The Biden administration gave NewsGuard millions of dollars as part of a government contract to allegedly fight foreign misinformation targeting Americans.

James Comer grills NewsGuard executives

Comer told NewsGuard CEOs Steven Brill and Gordon Crovitz in a letter that his committee is trying to “make an independent determination about whether NewsGuard’s intervention on protected speech has been in any way sponsored by a federal, state, local, or foreign government.”

He noted that the company “touts” how its editorial staffers don’t engage in any political activity to avoid the appearance of bias.

The editorial staffers are charged with determining the accuracy of information posted on a website.

“The social media accounts of several individuals listed as ‘editorial’ on NewsGuard’s online list of employees casts doubt on NewsGuard’s commitment to enforcing this pledge and anti-bias efforts,” Comer said.

Comer requested communications between the company and government entities along with any action taken against staffers who violated the editorial policy of not engaging in political activity.

Crovitz defended his company’s contract with the Defense Department in a statement to The Daily Wire.

“Our work for the Pentagon has been solely related to hostile disinformation efforts by Russian, Chinese, and Iranian government-linked operations targeting Americans and our allies,” Crovitz stated.

Stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop were censored during the 2020 Election because it was called a Russian disinformation operation.

Anything the Left doesn’t like online is painted as a foreign disinformation operation.

Comer called NewsGuard’s game out during an appearance on One America News.

“This appears to be a very biased, very unfair service that’s getting federal funds. It could be another backdoor attempt at censoring conservative media outlets,” Comer explained. “What’s their criteria that just happen to give networks like MSNBC and CNN tremendous grades, and then networks like OAN, Newsmax and Fox very poor grades?”

The Left wants to have their censorship machine firing on all cylinders for the Presidential campaign.
