The Trump family endured years of coordinated political warfare.
Democrats threw everything they had at destroying them.
And Eric Trump revealed one brutal truth about what Democrats did to his family that will make your blood boil.
Eric Trump lays out the years-long siege
Eric Trump took the stage at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library before a crowd of over a thousand fired-up conservatives who greeted him with chants of "U.S.A.! U.S.A.!"¹
The event was packed — the road leading up to the library was lined with trucks and cars flying massive Trump flags and American flags, with patriots celebrating California conservatives who refuse to give up their state to the radical Left.
Trump was there to discuss his new book, Under Siege: My Family’s Fight to Save Our Nation, which hit #1 on bestseller lists within minutes of its October 14 release.²
The book tells the story of what the Trump family endured from the moment Donald Trump announced his candidacy in 2015 until his triumphant return to the White House following his landslide victory over Kamala Harris.
What Eric revealed during his conversation with Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation President David Trulio should infuriate every American who values fair play and constitutional rights.
"They came after us in every way, shape or form," Eric told the enthusiastic crowd.³
The persecution started immediately
Eric walked the audience through the timeline of political persecution that began the second his father reached the bottom of that golden escalator in Trump Tower.
"We touched the bottom of the escalator, and they came after us like we were literal dogs," Eric explained.⁴
But Democrats didn’t even give President Trump time to settle into office before launching their first impeachment effort.
"My father’s hand came off the Bible on January 20th of 2017 — 12 minutes later, there was an article from the Washington Post. That’s when the impeachment of Donald Trump begins," Eric stated.⁵
Twelve minutes. Democrats couldn’t even pretend to give the 45th President a chance.
Eric detailed the full arsenal Democrats deployed against his family: "They debanked the company, they deplatformed the company, they pulled my father off the ballot in Maine, they pulled them off the ballot in Colorado, right? They raided our home, they raided Melania’s closet, they raided Barron’s room."⁶
And Eric became the target of what may be the most extensive subpoena campaign against a private citizen in American history.
"I became the most subpoenaed person in American history, 112 subpoenas," Eric revealed.⁷
The daily reality of 112 subpoenas
Try to imagine what 112 subpoenas means in practical terms.
Each subpoena requires lawyers to review. Documents to gather. Testimony to prepare. Depositions to sit through. Every single one costs tens of thousands — sometimes hundreds of thousands — of dollars to respond to properly.
Eric had to hire teams of lawyers just to keep track of which investigation wanted what information on which timeline. Senate Intelligence. House Intelligence. New York Attorney General. Manhattan DA. January 6 Committee. The list went on and on.
"These aren’t like baby subpoenas," Eric explained on Breitbart’s "The Alex Marlow Show." "These are all coming from Senate Intelligence, House Intelligence, the biggest people, the biggest attorney generals, the biggest DAs in the country. And they were all fishing."⁸
Fishing expeditions funded by taxpayers, designed to find something — anything — they could use to destroy the Trump family.
The coordination was obvious. Different jurisdictions, different investigations, but all with the same goal: make the Trump family’s life so miserable they’d give up and go away.
The staggering cost of defending American values
The financial toll of this coordinated assault was crushing.
"So about $400 million later, which is what it cost us to defend ourselves from these animals, right?" Eric stated.⁹
Four hundred million dollars to defend against what amounted to political persecution designed to silence Donald Trump and destroy his family.
"They wanted to silence him, they wanted to arrest him, they wanted to throw him in jail and throw away the keys, they wanted to divide our family. They wanted to take the name off of every single Trump building for doing absolutely nothing wrong other than we decided to question the status quo of Washington, D.C.," Eric explained.¹⁰
The Trump family was even debanked — cut off from the financial system by major institutions who refused to do business with them for purely political reasons.
Think about what that means. Banks that had done business with the Trump Organization for decades suddenly wouldn’t return phone calls. Financing that should have been routine became impossible to obtain. All because the family dared to enter politics and challenge the Washington establishment.
Why Eric wrote the book
Eric told the Reagan Library audience he felt compelled to document what happened because Democrats excel at rewriting history.
"And they killed our friend Charlie Kirk, who’s a dear friend," Trump said, his voice heavy with emotion. "And somebody had to tell the world what the siege was because we know the Democrats. They love revisionist history."¹²
Since Charlie Kirk’s assassination on September 10, the Trump Administration has taken an increasingly aggressive stance against left-wing political violence and the organizations that enable it.
Eric emphasized that someone with inside knowledge needed to tell the real story before Democrats could sanitize their coordinated campaign of lawfare and intimidation.
"Somebody had to memorialize the nonsense they put my father and the family through. The media did everything they could to cover it up, right? Every aspect of it," Eric stated.¹³
The persecution didn’t just target Donald Trump — it was designed to destroy anyone who dared to stand with him.
Democrats’ unprecedented abuse of power
The numbers tell a staggering story of governmental overreach.
During Trump’s first term, Democrats in Congress impeded over 100 separate congressional investigations, deploying dozens of tactics to block information and harass the Trump family and administration.¹⁴
New York Attorney General Letitia James launched a civil investigation into the Trump Organization that resulted in subpoenas for Donald Trump, Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Donald Trump Jr.¹⁵
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. ran a parallel criminal investigation that included a grand jury and attempts to flip Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg.¹⁶
The January 6 Committee subpoenaed Eric Trump’s phone records as part of its investigation, obtaining call detail records that showed incoming and outgoing calls, dates, times, and text message logs.¹⁷
House Democrats issued subpoenas to Deutsche Bank and Capital One seeking information about Trump’s finances as part of investigations into "allegations of potential foreign influence."¹⁸
This wasn’t oversight — it was harassment designed to bankrupt and destroy a political opponent and his family.
The real reason for the persecution
Eric made clear what the establishment really feared: someone willing to challenge their corrupt system.
"This is free enterprise," Trump Organization owner Robert Mayfield told Fox News in a separate story about Biden-era regulatory overreach. "If people don’t like it, they go somewhere else."¹⁹
That same spirit of independence is what terrified Washington, D.C. about Donald Trump.
The Trump family didn’t play by the establishment’s rules. They questioned the status quo. They fought back against media propaganda. They refused to surrender even when facing hundreds of millions in legal bills and an unprecedented barrage of subpoenas.
Why the persecution failed
Democrats made one critical miscalculation in their years-long campaign against the Trump family.
They assumed Donald Trump was like every other politician — someone who would eventually crack under the pressure, cut a deal, and slink away quietly to protect what remained of his fortune and reputation.
They didn’t understand who they were dealing with.
Every indictment made Trump more popular. Every raid energized his base. Every subpoena reminded Americans why they elected him in the first place — to fight the corrupt establishment that treats political opponents like enemies of the state.
The Left’s playbook worked against Republicans for decades. Drag them through investigations. Leak damaging stories to friendly media. Watch them lose their nerve and fold. It’s how they destroyed countless conservative careers.
But Trump isn’t wired that way. Neither is his family.
"The more times they indicted him, the harder he punched back," Eric said of his father.²⁰
That’s why Trump won a landslide victory in 2024 despite — or perhaps because of — everything Democrats threw at him. Voters saw through the persecution and rewarded his courage with a mandate to finish the job of draining the swamp.
Trump’s courage under fire
Throughout the entire ordeal, Donald Trump never wavered.
"I love my father, dearly, he was the toughest guy, he was the most courageous guy. He never cowered," Eric told the crowd.²¹
Democrats wanted Trump to quit — to retreat to Mar-a-Lago and give up his fight for the American people.
"They wanted him to drop out. They wanted him to leave the race. They wanted to make this billionaire’s life so difficult, so ugly, that he finally said, ‘You know what? Let’s just go back to Mar-a-Lago, go live a great life, let’s go play golf every day,’" Eric explained. "And he wasn’t going to do that."²²
Instead, Trump fought harder with each attack, ultimately winning a historic landslide victory in 2024 that gave him the mandate to drain the swamp once and for all.
The stakes for America
Eric’s book and his Reagan Library appearance serve as a warning about what happens when political opposition abandons constitutional norms and rule of law in pursuit of power.
The Trump family’s experience shows how easily the machinery of government can be weaponized against those who dare to challenge the establishment.
Debanking. Deplatforming. Raids on family homes. Over 100 subpoenas against a single person. Four hundred million dollars in legal defense costs.
This is what Democrats are willing to do to silence their opponents.
"Bold, riveting, and deeply personal, UNDER SIEGE is not just a memoir — it is a firsthand warning about the fragility of freedom," the book description states.²³
Every American should read Eric Trump’s book and understand exactly what the radical left did to destroy the Trump family.
Because if they’re willing to do this to a billionaire with unlimited resources to fight back, imagine what they’ll do to ordinary citizens who dare to stand up for conservative values.
The Trump family survived the siege. Now it’s time to make sure this kind of political persecution never happens again.
