The Trump family just fired a warning shot that has Democrats trembling.
A new post on social media has Washington insiders buzzing about what’s coming next.
And one of Donald Trump’s sons just put on this hat for one shocking 2028 hint.
Trump Organization launches 2028 merchandise that has everyone talking
The Trump Organization’s online store made waves by releasing “Trump 2028” merchandise this week, sending political observers into a frenzy about what exactly the family has planned for the future.
Eric Trump, the President’s son, posted a picture on his Instagram story proudly wearing the new “Trump 2028” hat, which retails for $50.
The Trump War Room social media account wasted no time promoting the eye-catching headwear.
“.@EricTrump rocking the new Trump 2028 hat!” the Trump War Room account posted, accompanied by eye and fire emojis.

While some have interpreted this as President Trump teasing a constitutionally impossible third term, savvy political watchers see this as something far more strategic – a passing of the torch to the next generation of Trumps.
The 22nd Amendment clearly states that “no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice,” which would prevent Donald Trump from seeking a third term.
However, nothing would prevent Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, or any other Trump family member from launching their own presidential bid in 2028.
Is the Trump political dynasty just beginning?
The new merchandise features some telling details that hint at the family’s true intentions.
The Trump Store website describes the hat as a way for supporters to “make a statement” – but what statement exactly? Hours after promoting the hat, Eric Trump took to X to showcase a matching shirt that includes the phrase “(Rewrite the Rules)” underneath “Trump 2028.”
While mainstream media outlets will likely frame this as President Trump floating the idea of violating constitutional term limits, the more likely explanation is that the Trump family is laying groundwork for one of the Trump sons to carry the MAGA mantle forward.
Political strategist and former Trump aide Steve Bannon notably said in a December speech, “Maybe we do it again in ’28?” – a comment that takes on new meaning when viewed through the lens of a possible Donald Trump Jr., or Eric Trump candidacy.
TRUMP 2028!
Three important notes about this hat..1) It doesn’t specify WHICH Trump is running in 2028 (@EricTrump?)
2) It’s being sold on the Tumpstore website (link in reply) NOT President Trump’s website.
3) It’s worth buying for the troll value alone! pic.twitter.com/IldmSvtB8t— Brick Suit (@Brick_Suit) April 24, 2025
Trump Jr. has been positioning himself for years but it could all have been a misdirection
Donald Trump Jr. has been increasingly active on the campaign trail, connecting with the MAGA base and establishing his own political identity.
His outspoken defense of his father’s policies, frequent media appearances, and strong connection with conservative voters have led many political insiders to believe he’s been preparing for his own political future all along.
Trump Jr.’s rising prominence in conservative circles has made him a natural successor to carry the Trump political brand forward, in many Americans’ eyes, should he choose to run.
Unlike other political dynasties that have faded after their patriarch left office, the Trump family – whether Don Jr., Eric, or Barron – appears to be building a political brand that could extend for generations.
Mixed signals keep everyone guessing
President Trump himself has sent mixed signals about his future political ambitions beyond his current term.
In a March interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, Trump refused to rule out a third term, cryptically stating “there are methods” for doing so.
“You know, we’re very popular,” Trump said. “And you know, a lot of people would like me to do that. But, I mean, I basically tell them, we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”
At a May 2024 speech to the National Rifle Association, Trump referenced FDR’s four terms in office, saying, “You know, FDR, 16 years — almost 16 years — he was four terms. I don’t know, are we going to be considered three-term? Or two-term?”
However, in an April 2024 interview with Time magazine, he dismissed the idea entirely: “I wouldn’t be in favor of it at all. I intend to serve four years and do a great job.”
These contradictory statements serve an important purpose – they keep both supporters and opponents guessing about the family’s true intentions while generating constant media attention.
The Left’s reaction is predictable
Democrats are already sounding alarm bells about the merchandise, with some suggesting it represents a threat to democracy and constitutional norms.
What they fail to understand is that the Trump family is playing both sides masterfully – generating outrage from opponents while energizing supporters who appreciate the provocative messaging.
For conservatives who have watched the Trump presidency deliver on promises from border security to economic growth, the prospect of extending the Trump political dynasty represents a path to cementing these policy victories for decades to come.

Whether the 2028 merchandise is a political trolling exercise, a genuine signal of future ambitions, or both simultaneously, one thing is certain – the Trump family isn’t planning to exit the political stage anytime soon.
As the Biden-Harris administration’s failures continue to haunt Democrats, and President Trump’s second administration implements its America First agenda, the stage is being set for the next chapter in American politics. The question now becomes not if, but which Trump will lead the movement in 2028.
