President Trump continues to dismantle the left’s power structures.
Trump just went for the jugular.
And Donald Trump signed one piece of paper that is doomsday for Democrats.
Democrat Party fundraising powerhouse ActBlue faces criminal investigation
Big Law, academia, and the deep state all faced a reckoning for their role in the lawless coup attempts and lawfare the left waged against Trump over the last eight years.
The left’s massive fundraising advantage over the right is due in part to the ActBlue juggernaut.
Since coming online in 2004, ActBlue has served as an online portal helping Democrat candidates, causes and political groups raise $17 billion dollars.
ActBlue helped Kamala Harris raise $47 million in the first hours after she replaced Joe Biden as the candidate.
Conservatives have long thought there is funny business going on with ActBlue, in that it seemingly allows straw donors to make contributions in other people’s names in excess of federal limits as well as illegally accepting foreign campaign contributions.
President Trump signed Presidential memo ordering Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Justice Department to “investigate and take appropriate action concerning allegations regarding the use of online fundraising platforms to make ‘straw’ or ‘dummy’ contributions and to make foreign contributions to U.S. political candidates and committees, all of which break the law.”
A statement from ActBlue proclaimed innocence
“ActBlue plays a vital role in enabling all Americans to participate in our democracy and the organization strictly abides by all federal and state laws governing its activities. We will always stand steadfast in defending the rights of all Americans to participate in our democracy and ActBlue will continue its mission undeterred and uninterrupted, providing a safe, secure fundraising platform for the millions of grassroots donors who rely on us,” the statement read.
Chair of the House Committee on Administration Bryan Steil (R-WI) announced that it was only this past December that ActBlue took steps to crackdown on foreign donations following his investigation.
According to Steil ActBlue now “automatically reject donations that use foreign prepaid/gift cards, domestic gift cards, are from high-risk/sanctioned countries, and have the highest level of risk as determined.”
But these measures were only put in place after the 2024 election.
Republican political operative Mark Block found that nearly $900 in fraudulent donations were made through in ActBlue to Democrats using his name.
“Mark Block, former chief of staff to Republican 2012 presidential candidate Herman Cain, alleges that a total of $884.38 given in his name and without his knowledge between May and October was designed to circumvent federal election law and may be part of a larger scam involving tens of thousands of unwitting donors,” the New York Post reported.
“Block discovered that beginning in May 2024 his identity was “fraudulently used” to make over 385 donations worth over $884 to 62 campaigns and political organizations, the suit said. Thirty-five of the donations were to Harris’ Victory Fund,” Just the News also reported.
In addition, Just the News reported that “emails that went to Block’s old Cain Campaign address with receipts from ActBlue, including one in June for $7.50 for the Equality PAC, the political arm of the liberal-leaning Congressional LGBTQ Equality Caucus.”
Democrats and the media will cry that this is political targeting.
But Republicans believe with regards to ActBlue that where there is smoke, there is fire.
