Joe Biden and the Democrats cannot win on their record.
So they try to shut people up instead.
Now, Democrats are stooping to one gutter tactic to take out a prominent Biden critic.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is a cautionary tale of how leftism corrupts institutions.
The SPLC played a key role in dismantling the Ku Klux Klan in the South, but like too many nonprofit organizations, the SPLC did not close its doors once it accomplished its mission.
Instead, the SPLC expanded its scope, and now it vacuums in tons of cash as nothing more than an attack dog for the Left.
The SPLC reported has well over $300 million in net assets.
Now that the KKK is all but obsolete, the SPLC now focuses on liberal YouTubers like Tim Pool.
Pool, an independent journalist and political commentator with a mix of liberal and libertarian views, has become a persistent target of the Left.
And the SPLC just wrote a hit piece on Pool in an attempt to get his YouTube channel demonetized.
The SPLC’s Hatewatch blog wrote, “Timcast IRL, a livestream that serves as a soapbox for the anti-democracy hard right, generates consistent profit for YouTube through the company’s Super Chat function, according to a new study published by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD). YouTube’s ‘Super Chats and Super Stickers’ function enables viewers to pay money in order to push their comments into a more visible position on the site during each livestream. ISD’s study demonstrated that across 100 videos on the Timcast IRL channel from October 2020 to November 2021, the channel pulled in $219,416.22 through super chats, sending $65,824.86 to YouTube itself…Hatewatch reached out to YouTube twice for a comment on this story, but the company did not respond.”
This is a common tactic of the Left.
They accuse someone of something nefarious, then reach out for comment as a way to put pressure on the person or an affiliated organization.
In this case, Hatewatch has deemed Pool “hard right,” which is an insane characterization, and wants YouTube to pull the financial plug on his channel.
That’s why they mentioned how much of the money went to YouTube; the platform gets 30% of all super-chat revenue across the entire site.
This is what the SPLC has become.
This is the same organization that labeled authors and political commentators Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali refugee, and Maajid Nawaz, a practicing Muslim, as anti-Islamic hate preachers.
For its compliance, the SPLC continues to rake in the dough from prominent liberals, even after an embarrassing racial and sexual discrimination scandal that forced co-founder Morris Dees to resign.
The SPLC is back in good standing with the establishment.
