John Brennan spent years telling the world Trump was a Russian asset.
Now three federal grand juries want to know if Brennan was the one who lied.
Brennan just lost the one legal move that could have protected him from what's coming.
Brennan Told Congress He Never Touched the Steele Dossier and a Declassified Email Says Otherwise
CIA Director John Ratcliffe declassified a bombshell email last year.
That email – sent from John Brennan's own deputy CIA director in December 2016 – showed Brennan personally pushed to include the bogus Steele dossier in the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment on Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Brennan told Congress the exact opposite.
"The CIA was very much opposed to having any reference or inclusion of the Steele dossier in the Intelligence Community Assessment," he testified in May 2023.
The declassified documents prove that was a lie.
Now the Justice Department is running three simultaneous grand jury probes – two in the Southern District of Florida and one in Washington, D.C. – targeting the man who spent years as a paid MSNBC contributor calling Trump a Russian asset.
Brennan was subpoenaed to appear before a Fort Pierce grand jury on October 15th – and that appearance was postponed.
His lawyers called the investigations "baseless" and accused Trump of pursuing "personal and political retribution."
Attorney General Todd Blanche has been anything but quiet about the scale – telling reporters that DOJ has already issued 200 grand jury subpoenas and is investigating a coordinated pattern of behavior designed to destroy a sitting president.
Brennan's team calls it retaliation. Blanche has 200 subpoenas that say otherwise.
Jim Jordan referred Brennan to the DOJ for criminal prosecution after Brennan told Congress the CIA "was not involved at all with the Steele dossier."
Why Brennan's Lawsuit Against Kash Patel Just Collapsed in Federal Court
Brennan filed a 46-page lawsuit in July against Trump, Kash Patel, Todd Blanche, and John Ratcliffe.
His argument: DOJ was destroying evidence he'd need to prove any future prosecution was politically motivated.
He pointed to deleted social media posts, Signal chats with auto-delete settings, unpreserved texts, and AI query logs – all of it useless now that a federal judge just slammed the door on that strategy.
The strategy: build the malicious prosecution defense before you're even charged.
Judge Jia Cobb – nominated in 2021 by Joe Biden – wasn't moved.
"Brennan's allegations – that he is being targeted by the Trump Administration not because of his conduct, but because he has opposed the current president – are deeply concerning," she wrote.
Then she dismissed the case anyway.
Cobb ruled Brennan lacked legal standing because his feared injury depended on too many things that hadn't happened yet – a chain of dominoes the judge said hadn't all fallen yet.
Brennan's lawyers tried to spin it, calling the ruling a "technical matter of legal standing" with no bearing on whether the DOJ was targeting him politically.
The Russiagate Architects Are Finally Facing the Justice Department
The Russia collusion hoax wasn't just wrong – it was engineered by the very people now crying victim.
The FBI and CIA opened a counterintelligence investigation against a sitting presidential candidate using a document Hillary Clinton's campaign paid for – and buried every piece of contradictory evidence as it surfaced.
Brennan was at the center of it – running the CIA when the dossier was shopped to the intelligence community, then testifying under oath that his agency never touched it.
His own deputy's declassified email proves he lied. Nobody weaponized the Justice Department.
The DOJ is looking at Brennan's emails and asking the simplest possible question: did he commit perjury?
A Biden-appointed judge just admitted Brennan's targeting claims were "deeply concerning" – and still couldn't find a legal basis to shield him from what's coming.
Three grand juries are still running and the next subpoena hasn't been canceled.
The man who built a post-CIA career calling Trump a Russian asset is one indictment away from becoming the story he spent a decade trying to bury.
