Barack Obama was blindsided after a Big Tech company put out this shocking statement

Barack Obama likes to think that he’s a big celebrity.

He never expected to get this treatment.

And he was blindsided after a Big Tech company put out this shocking statement.

Barack Obama was a celebrity President who loved hobnobbing with the Hollywood elite, athletes and entertainers during his time in office.

The corporate-controlled media fawned over him, treating Obama like a political rock star.

After Obama left the White House, he began cashing on his time as President by capitalizing on his celebrity status.

He and Michelle signed a massive $65 million book deal with Penguin Random House to publish their respective memoirs.

Then the couple jumped into the world of Hollywood creating the production company, Higher Ground, to handle their movie, TV, and podcasting deals.

Higher Ground inked a deal with Silicon Valley titan Netflix to produce series, movies, and documentaries for the streaming service.

On top of that, the Obamas inked an exclusive podcasting deal with the music streaming service Spotify for a reported $25 million.

Spotify is one of the largest music streaming services with nearly half-a-billion users worldwide.

Long before signing their big names like Joe Rogan, the company scored a major coup inking the Obamas as the company began.

Spotify was the exclusive home for “Renegades: Born in the USA,” Barack’s podcast with Bruce Springsteen and the “The Michelle Obama Podcast.”

After serving as the Obama’s podcasting home since 2019, the tech titan is dumping the couple after three years.

“We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Higher Ground and while we declined to extend our deal we are excited about the series we made together and those still to come in the months ahead,” a Spotify spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter

Spotify reportedly walked away from their deal with the Obamas because of their infrequent number of podcasts.

The couple would only commit to no more than 8 episodes despite the $25 million from Spotify.

The Obamas were reportedly grumbling about the exclusive deal hoping to bring their talents to audiences on more streaming platforms.

After getting rejected by Spotify, the Obama’s quickly moved on, inking an exclusive, multi-year contract with Amazon’s Audible service.

Obama put a positive spin on his new deal with Audible.

“At Higher Ground, we have always sought to lift up voices that deserve to be heard — and Audible is invested in realizing that vision alongside us,” President Obama said. “I’m looking forward to partnering with them to tell stories that not only entertain, but also inspire.”

Spotify became one of the rare Big Tech companies to deliver a blow to Barack Obama’s enormous ego.
