Joe Biden promised America his Afghan evacuation would be safe and orderly.
A 20-year-old National Guard member is dead and another is fighting for his life near the White House.
And an FBI agent just exposed the one Biden lie that got a National Guard hero killed.
Nobody was vetted — and Biden's team knew it
Former FBI special agent Nicole Parker told Fox News Digital what really happened during Biden's 2021 Afghanistan disaster.
"Initially, it was a free-for-all and no one was being vetted."¹
Not some of them. Not most of them. None of them.
Parker worked directly with FBI agents overseas screening Afghans alongside Department of Defense contractors.
She watched in real-time as the Biden State Department overrode every single security concern agents flagged.
"There were individuals that were not being recommended to come to the United States, yet they were being overridden by the Biden State Department," Parker explained.²
FBI agents would red-flag someone as a security risk. State Department bureaucrats would wave them through anyway.
Agents on the ground warned their superiors this would end in disaster.
"They said it is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode because we've just allowed all of these people into our country," Parker recalled.³
That bomb just went off blocks from the White House.
Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20 years old, volunteered to spend Thanksgiving protecting the nation's capital. She died from gunshot wounds on Thursday.
Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe, 24, is fighting for his life in critical condition.
The vetting process was designed to fail
Look at how Biden's team set this up. They shipped Afghan evacuees to temporary staging bases — "lily pads" they called them — scattered across Germany, Qatar, Spain, and Italy.
A 2022 Department of Homeland Security Inspector General report found these sites were rushed, understaffed, and inconsistent, leading to major documentation gaps, missing records, and vetting shortcuts.⁴
Evacuees stayed at these lily pads for just days or weeks while understaffed screening teams tried to process thousands of people with zero verifiable documents.
No passports. No birth certificates. No criminal records. No way to run anything through intelligence databases.
"Many times it felt like anyone was allowed to come into the United States from Afghanistan, regardless of who they were," Parker said.⁵
Sen. Josh Hawley uncovered an August 2021 email directive from Biden officials instructing U.S. personnel to prioritize filling evacuation flights and to "err on the side of excess."⁶
Translation: pack the planes first, worry about who's on them later.
A whistleblower told Hawley that 324 individuals with derogatory information made it into the country.⁷
A Pentagon inspector general report revealed at least 50 evacuees brought to the U.S. had "potentially serious security concerns" — and officials couldn't even locate dozens more flagged with derogatory information.⁸
Biden brought 70,000 people into America in a matter of weeks.
"America is full of people we do not know," Parker warned. "We don't know who they are, where they are, or what sleeper cells are here."⁹
Mayorkas lied under oath — and got caught
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stood before the Senate and swore "well over 99 percent" of evacuees were screened and vetted before boarding flights.¹⁰
That was a lie.
Under questioning from senators who actually read the reports, Mayorkas started hedging. Well, maybe some weren't vetted before getting on planes, but they were "screened and vetted while in flight" he claimed.¹¹
While in flight. On a plane. Crossing the ocean.
Sen. Lindsey Graham pressed him about whether everyone was properly vetted.
Mayorkas, under oath, finally told the truth: "No. No, I can't speak to that."¹²
There it is. The Biden administration's Homeland Security Secretary admitting under oath he couldn't guarantee the people his department brought into America were actually vetted.
But Mayorkas kept his job. Nobody was fired. Nobody faced consequences.
Sarah Beckstrom is dead because Mayorkas lied. Andrew Wolfe is fighting for his life because Mayorkas lied.
The killer walked right through Biden's open door
Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, entered the United States through Operation Allies Welcome — Biden's program for Afghan evacuees.
He settled in Bellingham, Washington with his wife and five children. American taxpayers funded his resettlement.
Then he drove cross-country to the nation's capital and opened fire on two National Guard members just blocks from the White House in what law enforcement called a "clear ambush" and "calculated attack."
Both Guard members were shot in the head.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced Friday that Lakanwal faces first-degree murder charges and she's seeking the death penalty.
"Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom of the National Guard — a hero who volunteered to serve DC on Thanksgiving for people she never met and gave the ultimate sacrifice," Pirro said. "May she rest in peace. It is now time to avenge her death."
FBI Director Kash Patel was even more direct: "This individual is in this country for one reason and one reason alone, because of the disastrous withdrawal from the Biden administration and the failure to vet in any way, shape or form this individual and countless others."
Parker's warning from 2021 now sounds prophetic: "What happened to our National Guard service members is a direct result of their lack of vetting."¹³
Biden's Afghanistan withdrawal was a disaster on every level. He left Americans behind. He abandoned billions in military equipment to the Taliban. He let the Taliban control who got through the gates at Kabul airport — they literally tore up papers from translators who helped America.
Then Biden loaded planes with whoever made it through Taliban checkpoints and flew them to America without proper vetting.
Trump's taking office with a mess to clean up. How many more Lakanwals are already here? How many more attacks are we one bad day away from?
Nobody knows. Biden made sure of that when he threw open the door and turned off the alarm system.
The FBI agents who warned this would happen were ignored. The whistleblowers who raised red flags were overruled. The inspector generals who documented the failures were dismissed.
Now Sarah Beckstrom is dead because Biden cared more about headlines than security.
That's the real scandal. Not that the vetting failed — but that Biden's team knew it was failing and kept going anyway because the politics mattered more than protecting Americans.
Parker and her fellow agents tried to stop it. They were overruled by Biden's State Department at every turn.
That should terrify every American. Biden let 70,000 people into this country without knowing who they were. They're scattered across all 50 states right now.
Sarah Beckstrom volunteered to spend Thanksgiving serving her country. She should be home with her family today celebrating the holiday.
Instead, her parents are planning her funeral.
And Biden walks free.
