The Left absolutely despises Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
They will do anything to denigrate him.
And a SCOTUS Justice may end up gone away permanently after Clarence Thomas’ alma mater pulled one incredibly dirty move.
American universities have become the incubators for all of the “woke” insanity sweeping the nation.
The most prestigious and elite colleges are the worst offenders.
So it’s not a surprise that Yale University would go out of its way to dishonor Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, one of the law school’s most famous alums.
In 2018, Republican billionaire Harlan Crow—a decades-long friend of Thomas who has been the subject of recent liberal hit pieces—commissioned a portrait of Justice Thomas to hang in Yale Law School.
Law School Dean Heather Gerken thanked Crow for the donation and replied, “We are so pleased to welcome the justice to our outstanding gallery of portraits…They will always have a place of prominence at Yale Law School.”
Gerken also called Thomas a “trailblazer.”
However, five years later, nobody seems to know where the portrait hangs, if it does at all.
Law school dean has some explaining to do
Students and members of the faculty have never seen it even though Thomas sat for the portrait.
The Washington Free Beacon reached out to Gerken and the Yale Law School for comment, but did not get a response.
Crow told the Free Beacon, “It was completely understood that the painting would join…the pantheon of paintings.”
Thomas previously had a contentious relationship with the school.
Thomas once remarked that a Yale Law degree “meant one thing for white graduates and another for blacks,” although many years later he called his remarks “juvenile.”
Thomas’s experience is one of the reasons why he has been an opponent of affirmative action, which diminishes the qualifications of groups in the identity politics matrix created by the Left.
The Free Beacon reported that “[t]ypically, the university has marked portrait unveilings with celebratory events. The school in 2017 held such an event for the unveiling of Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s portrait, which now hangs in the law school’s largest classroom.”
Blotted out of history?
Meanwhile, nobody knows the whereabouts of Thomas’s portrait.
In 2005, the Yale Daily News wrote, “The walls of the law school display portraits of past Supreme Court justices affiliated with Yale—William Howard Taft, William Douglas, Byron White, Abe Fortas, and Potter Stewart—but Thomas’s portrait is conspicuously absent.”
Thomas has the “wrong” politics, so he will forever be punished by leftist activists.
