Democrats Ran On Grocery Bills and Had a Lawfare Target List Ready By Morning

Every Democrat who won a congressional seat Tuesday ran on one promise: lower your grocery bill.

They won, and by this morning the grocery talk was already over.

A 181-page document sitting in House Democrats' offices tells you everything they actually plan to do.

The 2027 Investigation Plan Democrats Had Ready Before the Votes Were Counted

The document was drafted by Groundwork Collaborative – a think tank whose dossier was drafted by former staffers for Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

Democrats on the Judiciary and Oversight committees have been reviewing it.

It identifies hundreds of executives and companies they plan to target the moment they take control of Congress next year – not to lower your grocery bill, but to haul the CEOs of tech companies, AI labs, natural gas firms, private prisons, and nursing home operators before congressional cameras.

They want CEO resignations, restitution payments, and what their own documents call "a constant stream of high-profile confrontations" stretching to 2028.

The dossier specifically calls for landlord executives under oath about junk fees, sports gambling CEOs answering for how they use artificial intelligence to target compulsive gamblers, and major grocery chains forced to disclose how they use consumer data against customers.

None of that lowers your bill at the grocery by a single cent.

Groundwork's executive director described the goal as "resignations of major CEOs, hauling people in, material restitution."

Rep. Jamie Raskin – incoming chairman of the House Judiciary Committee – confirmed his staff has been reviewing "potential investigative opportunities" and said the companies on the list are subject to Congress's "subpoena authority like everyone else" – less than 24 hours after the polls closed.

Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren Now Control the Committees That Can Subpoena Anyone

Before Election Day, Democrats' own voters admitted the truth: 54% of Democrats planning to vote for a congressional candidate said stopping Trump was their primary motivation – not affordability, not inflation, not a single policy goal their candidates ran on.

The candidates ran on affordability while the base voted for a legal hammer, and now they have the gavel to swing it.

Bernie Sanders chairs the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

Elizabeth Warren is expected to chair Senate Banking, Sheldon Whitehouse the Judiciary Committee, and Ron Wyden the Finance Committee – where going after corporate tax avoidance tops his agenda.

The Democrats who just won Congress are not moderates ready to work with Trump on making life more affordable– they are the radical Left, and they now have subpoena power.

Groundwork's own strategist gave away the game: go after Trump's personal scandals and you only fire up people who already hate him.

Grocery prices were never the goal – they were the advertisement.

Democrat Lawfare Has Two Targets and Neither One Is Your Grocery Bill

Three weeks ago, Sen. Elissa Slotkin told a room of college students at the University of Chicago what a Democratic victory would actually mean: she wanted to pursue Trump officials in a way that would make young conservatives – your grandchildren – think twice about ever taking a government job.

"I want that deterrence message sent," she said – and within days, a Senate ethics complaint was filed against her, with Trump calling her a "low-life."

Not one leading Democrat condemned what she said, because she was not speaking out of turn – she was describing one prong of the same plan sitting in Raskin's office as a 181-page target list.

One prong targets the people who worked for Trump; the other goes after the companies and executives who funded him.

Both are designed to do the same thing – make the cost of standing with Republicans so painful, financially and legally, that the next wave of donors, staffers, and executives starts doing the math and walks away.

You do not have to be convicted to be ruined – you just have to be compelled to hire a lawyer.

The legal bills from defending a single congressional subpoena can wipe out a company before a charge is filed – Democrats know that because they used the same subpoena power against Trump's White House twice, in 2019 and again in 2021.

This time, the target pool extends well beyond the White House.

Your grocery bill was never on the list – Raskin said so, the dossier spelled it out across 181 pages, and Slotkin announced it on camera at a Chicago campus.

They were not hiding the plan. They were announcing it.
